Amazingly fun game. The closet comparison would be something like Subnautuca, but this game is far from a clone or copy. Not only are you building, gathering, and exploring, but you are terraforming a planet, and you see the planet change from a dusty barren wasteland into a luscious beautiful paradise. Old areas are new again as you progress and the landscape changes. Places that were once big holes are now lakes, and dusty wastelands are now jungles. Planet Crafter is an awesome game where you can see your positive impact as you progress the story.

Factorio is a really fun base building/automation/engineering game. Don't be worried about the early access, this game is really well made, has multiplayer, very few bugs, anda ton of stuff to do.

You start with almost nothing, but within a few minutes you are already setting up machines and automating basic mining. After a few hours, you will probably have a good amount of automation going on with tons of conveyor belts going in all directions. You will likely scrap your first few bases before reachng the end game becasue you will find flaws in your designs that make it very hard or impossible to expand for the new technologies. Part of the fun with this game is learning from your mistakes and trying to make a better base the next time.

There is tons of technology to unlock that will keep you busy, from the simple stuff to the very rewarding but hard to make technology. Even after you make it to the end game once, you can do it all again with harder settings or even mods.
