A feat of game development. Excellent world design and atmosphere. A little light on actual gameplay but still far from what one might call a walking simulator. Groundhog day mechanics paired with a living solar system in an extremely creative way.

The combat system takes a while to get used to, but the level design is gorgeous, and there's plenty to do in this top tier RPG. Fun to min-max your character and hunt for rare loot.

I can't recommend this game but I can't condemn it either. The first two thirds were a fantastic fusing of narrative and gameplay, and the writing was thoughtful and interesting. However, all the converging plot points that seemed to be hinting towards an incredible payoff as the mystery is solved turned into a trainwreck of conflicting information with no clear answer or "good" choice to be made. They started breaking the 4th wall all over the place and completely deflated my emotional investment in the outcome. It reminded me of the ending of Lost, but with even less explanation.

In short, the ending sucked. The game was good. Meh.

Looks can be deceiving; one of the best card games out there.

Very lackluster. Awful game design, with many decisions that make no sense and gameplay features that are essentially worthless. Played for 10 hours on moderate difficulty without needing to make a single decision beyond mashing buttons and following the never ending torrent of tutorials.

At multiple points in the game the player is presented with an "obstacle" like a wall of vines, only for a character to say "Oh, just burn them down." Okay, so this legendary puzzle is to press 'A' on the vine wall; Thank you for telling me what I could have figured out in a half second anyway. Why did you make me burn down these vines anyway? They aren't gating a zone I'm not supposed to access, since the first one I discovered was the one where I was given the ability to destroy them. I didn't earn the ability through gameplay either. It's just there because "Area blockers that you need an ability to bypass" was on some exec's checklist. This game is full of similar game mechanics that are tacked on for the sake of it, as if they were trying to make a walking simulator into a game by shoehorning in copy-pasted "game features". I've been through multiple zones and have yet to find anything except for "amber" equipment, which has minor stat improvements and a random bonus stat boost. This barren lack of variation underlines a fundamental lack of creativity on the developer's part. Every item is utterly generic thus far.

The only redeeming quality of this button mashing simulator is the story/characters. That's probably for the best, since there's a cutscene approximately every 5 minutes.

Wow. Short but very much worth it. Felt like I was playing through a movie. Never expected such a short and simple game to pack such a powerful atmospheric punch. Very evocative storytelling and world.

Some good ol' nostalgic Half-Life 2 action.
