First off the class customization is truly amazing. Not only does Rift supply the freedom to have different classes, but they supply MOST classes with a tank, dps, and healing role. So yes, for example, if you are a rogue, you can be a HEALING rogue or a tank rogue. And what's best about it is Rift doesn't PUNISH you if you wanna try out other classes or switch to a new one. It's not expensive at all and you can switch whenever you feel like it.

Another thing is if you get a friend to play it or someone new is playing it and you'd like to help them, you can "Ascend" yourself to their level so you can play with them at their level where you won't be sucking their exp from them, PLUS you get decent experience as well.

Rift also makes it where you can level whichever way you feel like and have the same speed of progress. You can actually level rather quick pvping from level 10-50 or you can PVE doing rifts and standard quests and dungeons..

The community is possibly the hands down best community around, and the developers are CONSTANTLY having events and being a part of the in game material. The cash shop is also really good as just putting in 5 dollars gets you a lot. (Yet nothing that hinders gameplay)

On top of the great graphics (Or at least better than games like WoW) and little things like the Rift app that gives you in game items every hour, the game is an amazing f2p MMO. The ONLY drawback I would say is the way MMOHuts said ""Generic MMO experience." To put it bluntly, if you are already and continue to pay WoW, Rift PROBABLY won't interest you. (I played WoW since release) However, I always tell people ESPECIALLY players that haven't played WoW, "If you aren't playing WoW, you should play Rift." Rift gives you the best MMORPG experience you can have outside of WoW.. However, if you still play WoW, then yes, it will seem like a "Generic MMO experience."
