Simple little city builder, really nicely made. This is one of the main games I play if I just want to zone out for a few hours -- put on some tunes, have an edible, chill out with kingdoms&castles for a few hours. Been doing that once every month or two for years at this point.

Great little platformer. I found one or two spots erred a bit on the annoying fiddly timing side, but nothing that took all that long to get past. Fantastic art/visuals and music, and the game has a confidently chill pace. I definitely got $20 worth out of my 5 hours of non-idle playtime, is an absolute no-brainer if it's on sale for $5 (like I just bought it for).

Not as good as previous Grey Alien solitaire games, quite frankly. But, it still scratches that base itch if you just want to chill out and click on cards.

Levels as you near the end of the game get kind of annoying -- when I beat them, I feel more that it's because I got a lucky overall draw, vs figuring out a path through a hard but fair game. Some of the layouts have a tendency to just really hose you over.

Overall, mild thumbs-up [edit after playing further: I'm tilting more towards barely thumbs-down now, see below], but buy their earlier solitaire games first if you haven't played those.

Update: the later rounds really do become punishing "did I get a lucky draw" fests, completely kills the fun and momentum.

Also, for something that presents itself as a light frilly regency adventure tale, the heroine straight-up murders a metric crapton of people during "duels". To say it feels incongruous is an understatement.

I'm trying to finish it out of sheer obstinacy at this point. Why, I dunno :)

It's fine, a good enough way to burn a bit of time while enjoying herbal relaxation.

Starfield is to games what Golden Corral is to restaurants: lots to eat, you'll find plenty you like and won't go away hungry -- you'll be satisfied, but won't be raving about it. Will be interesting to see what sorts of improvements the modding community will be able to crank out over time.

Great little strategy game where you can play a full round in a couple minutes, instead of needing hours. Well worth five bucks.

It sounds silly, but it's an excellent, quick, chess-based strategy game.

The first time you fire it up, it just throws you in and lets you play; but, it's straightforward enough that you figure it all out within a couple rounds. The two things that weren't immediately obvious to me:

* after you move, if you are in check, game over -- doesn't matter if the attacking piece can move or not
* you can reload without moving by clicking the shotgun at the top of the screen

While the game protects you from really obvious mistakes, it's very easy to lose by blowing away a pawn and oh crap yeah there was a queen behind it, duh. It doesn't feel cheap when that happens (because duh), and I don't do it all that often anymore, but I still sometimes get my firepower jacked way up and forget that blowing away three or four pawns is going to expose me to whatever's behind 'em.

Genuinely great game, perfect for short bursts of strategery fix. If it sounds even slightly intriguing, definitely try the demo.

This is the most pleasant little game I've played in ages. Very, very strong recommendation.
