The perfect mix of Mirrors Edge and Superhot, I would say this is the best movement game I've played since either title. I'm seeing a lot of comparisons to Ghostrunner, and this game honestly runs circles around it with its superior controls, game mechanics, level design and pacing.

The pacing is extremely tight and the movement is exquisite, the amount of fine control over air movement and the tiny spaces you can slide through are far beyond other games. The destructible environments and constant onslaught of mooks makes gameplay really intense. With the amount of lead flying, dying feels fair, and it takes minimal time to reset anyhow.

Just archetypal perfection, through and through.

The immediate dependence on quick-time event gameplay and memorizing attack patterns just ruins the suspense and pacing of the game. The writing was decent and art direction compelling but the gameplay is just obtuse

The card game is good in its own right and the rest of the game is a joy.

An unparalleled synthesis of the sim management game and a melee roguelike; excellent art design; a great sense of humor, coupled with heavy themes; and the 100% grind was enjoyable, only requiring a little wiki diving. Honest to God [read: the Lamb] 10/10 game. Hats off

The DLC description is intentionally deceptive, in a good way -- theres a whole ton of content, particularly with the skewed version of every playable character, the 'Tainted'. Those new characters add so much unique gameplay -- I especially love the emphasis on melee combat thats been added. New areas and bosses are very stylistic and meld well with the original game, and as I unlock more items I can see new lines to jump between the old routes and the new ones provided. Very cool and deepens the game immensely with new mechanics.

Regarding specifically the most recent DLC, there is so much more crazy content that makes the game feel really wacky and new. Theres a lot of variety in gameplay loops and the more stuff you unlock you can really strategize around many of the new characters' downsides. I also like the team doublign down on the Christian imagery, very stylistically interesting and the music (esp Dogma fight) is bangin

This game has a rare mix of excellent aesthetics, insane gameplay and a (unfortunately...) timeless story & message, albeit the latter is pretty cut-and-paste if you're familiar with cyberpunk. The game can be beat pretty fast, but New Game + is a great challenge and the game has innate replayability of its own right. This is probably the main indie title I recommend to friends, it's just so much fun.
