The idea is nice and unorthodox, but the game is ridiculously difficult. Some parts of the game play like a fun adventure game. You are talking to characters, exploring, collecting items. Then suddenly fast-paced action begins where you have no chance without crazy quick reflexes and sometimes a lot of practice.

This is made much much worse by the fact that saves are limited. You can't afford to save the game after each little thing you've done. So when you're taken by surprise by another unexpected action portion of the game, this usually means replaying, sometimes quite a lot.

I've decided to give up on the game. The difficulty itself or the limited saves mechanism alone would not have made me give up. But these two aspects combined make the game incredibly frustrating and simply not fun anymore. Seriously, I've played platformers with spikes and stuff that were much less frustrating than this game.

A well-done genetic engineering simulator for people who want to understand genetics on a more intuitive level.

I would especially recommend this game for children. This is one of those games that can inspire a future scientific career.

To start with a couple of potential turn-offs, Clam Man is short and, as far as point-and-click adventures go, doesn't have too many puzzles. In this case, by "too many" I mean four. Because the game has three. Still, it's three puzzles more than some other modern games have.

However, despite my overall predilection for games with at least four puzzles, I wasn't disappointed at all! Most importantly, the game has extraordinarily good writing. The dialogues are fresh, original and impressive. Most characters are colorful and very likeable. And a bit insane. But that's good, right?

The humor is another great point in favor of this game. Fans of Monty Python will feel right at home in the weird fish world and its story (especially somewhere around the middle of the game).

To sum it all up, recommended to everyone who can read and laugh. Because you will.

This game has so many jokes that there's an option to turn some of them off!

This is a fantastic game if you like small-scale turn-based tactical battles in space. The core gameplay is turn-based shoot 'em up with simplified FTL-like sector jumping in between the skirmishes. It's not really much like FTL except superficially. It's a great game nonetheless!

First, the downsides. It's a relatively short game. It's very replayable but even if you like it, you probably won't play for many tens of hours. It's also cheap though.

The battle map is small and doesn't contain much except various enemies. Not realy a downside in my opinion, just a game design choice. Think of the map as a chess board.

A more serious downside is that the gameplay seems confusing at first and the tutorial doesn't help much. Not to worry, there's a very prominent in-game manual that explains almost everything. But yeah, you'll have to read the manual at some point, which is not very fun for most people. I recommend playing on Easy at first and horsing around, doing stuff without full understanding. With a bit of luck, you won't be destroyed too quickly. After that, when you have some experience with the game, the manual is much easier to read. You can skip many sections and you will understand everything better because the concepts will connect with your experience.

Now, for the great stuff. Well, the energy-based combos are what made everything really fun to me. Your ship has a limited amount of energy each turn, which is spent on actions (energy here is like action points in other games). Any enemies you destroy drop energy. If you are able to continuously gather it, your turn won't end. This creates a great tactical planning experience. You have to think ahead and you'll be rewarded.

I also loved the intro with its awesome voiceover in Japanese. And the premise that your mission is to save the booze! That's far more original than saving the galaxy and far more important than saving random princesses!

To conclude, don't expect this game to be FTL. Expect it to be a fun turn-based shoot 'em up with many small-scale battles that can make you think. That's what it is!

What was it like, to live in Austria-Hungary in the late 19th century? The country clearly had some serious problems. The poor worked 9 hours a day only to earn their rent and dug through all drawers and pockets (not necessarily their own) to find a few coins to afford a third-class dirigible ticket. It's hard not to identify with Viktor who has just lost his job. "Stupid trash can, stupid grandfather clock, stupid world!", laments Viktor. And we know exactly how he feels! The emperor, locked in his luxurious palace, held the country in his iron fist or, more precisely, in iron fists of his automaton minions. Little did he care about the misery of his subjects. On the other hand, science and technology marched forward, bringing hope for a better future and cheap coal-powered cellphones to the masses.

Viktor, a Steampunk Adventure is an outstanding point and click adventure with great humor, unique art style, and a polished and immersive setting that perfectly fits the story.

The game doesn't insult the player with hand-holding (there's a "hint system", but it's just another part of the fun). In fact, the difficulty of some puzzles approaches that of classic point-and-click games, although every puzzle is perfectly solvable with a bit of thinking and experimenting. They are just hard enough to be fun to solve.

The dialogues and the interactions with the environment are well-thought-out and often hilarious. Drunk philosophy, sarcasm, clever insults, poop jokes, surreal humor, everything is smart and funny and often extremely politically incorrect! What's not to love about this mushroom-induced trip to Austria-Hungary nice and pleasant game!

Play the free Oh...Sir! Prototype and if you like it, buy this one. It's better in every way! The AI creates gems like "Your son is spam" or "Your wife is you, pardon my French".

There's both online and local multiplayer, so you can insult actual people and retain your face intact!
(Disclaimer: No guarantees though, especially for local multiplayer.)

Farmington Tales is a very fun mix of various casual genres. Hidden-object scenes, puzzle mini-games, and farm management are interspersed with clever funny dialogues. There's something to do all the time and it never gets boring!

This game is rather poorly presented in the trailers. Look at the actual gameplay before buying.

First and foremost, this is not a point-and-click adventure game. It's a puzzle game. It consists of a set of puzzles.

That said, the game is actually very fun.

+:
+ clever (but not too hard) puzzles
+ hilarious interactions with the environment
+ nice music
+ endearing personality

-:
- a bit too short
