Watch the ducks and vibe. Perfect background content that is just interesting enough to check back in on every few minutes.

Story was great, gameplay was fun, first game in a while that I actually felt compelled to finish. The twists and turns of the story were good. Has a a very strong start but the last level of the game was the weakest in my opinion. Lots of secrets to find and the progression was satisfying.

I've played this on the Switch, Vita, and the original pc flash version, and can easily say it's hands down the best rogue-like game ever made. I'm always chasing the binding of isaac high when a new rogue-like comes out and it's never as good. Truly a masterpiece. 10/10

TLDR: Right now it's like a 6/10 for me. Good open world game if you're willing to put up with the bugs. Check back in a couple of months when some patches have gone through.

Main story quests are great (but yes, very buggy). Night City is a cool place to explore with a lot of eye candy to look at. I really love the characters and the setting, the overall aesthetic, and the vibe. However, the list of bugs seems to grow larger and larger the longer I play the game. NPCS in the crowd (I'm playing on Ultra, RTX 2080 Super) pop in and out randomly, NPCS clip into and through walls, cars randomly appear and disappear on roads, game sometimes comes to a crawl as a scripted sequence begins. When you lose control of V it seems like there might be a memory leak? A quick reload fixes the issue but it is annoying nonetheless. NPCs sometimes snap back to default position when changing animations, this is especially jarring during scripted sequences. Objects NPCs hold often just glitch out of their hands and then become stuck floating in the air where they were moments ago.

I wish more of Night City seems to be kind of skin deep. Locked doors everywhere you look that I haven't found a way to open (yet?). The Life Paths that were touted as being route changing seem to be mostly skin deep as well, I've only seen a few dialogue options unique to the one I chose and it's purely dialogue, the missions or options didn't change in a meaningful way.

I wish there was a middle option for a review. Do I recommend this game RIGHT NOW? No, probably not. Do I think it will get better over time? Yes, I'm sure with patches and DLC put into the game it will feel more like a complete package. I'd say wait for a sale or wait for the inevitable ultimate edition with everything included.

If you like slay the spire you'll like this. This game has a great art style, the colors really pop! I like this art style a little more than Slay the Spire. The builds seem varied, I've had success with a few different clans. The tower defense style took a second to get used to, but it adds a good layer of depth.

Superb character customization, awesome story, fantastic league/season mechanics that make coming back every few months for another round fun. Overall probably the BEST free to play game I've ever played. The cosmetic microtransactions (mtx) are very expensive but they directly help fund the game so I think it's fair.
