Though leagues better than modern harvest moon, Story of Seasons has gotten steadily worse with every new entry. This one has no sense of progression - it's too easy to make 1 million g in the first spring via Huang/horse races, and then all other unlockables are just time gated. The in game clock is also much too fast (though this is personal opinion), and there are no options to properly remap controls inside menus or speed up the (extremely repetitive) dialogue. The abilities to save at any time and marry any gender are some of the only improvements. This series desperately needs to take some cues back from stardew valley.

As of September 2019, the devs are very active in updating this game, so I would recommend buying it if it's on sale, or if you don't mind early access games. Currently, there is plenty to do, lots of story missions, and a ton of stuff to unlock. You can tame and raise all sorts of animals, customize your house, and build all sorts of expansions to your farm. However, the game does turn into quite the grind at about the 10-hour mark, and it might be a while until they re-balance the stamina and reward systems so that it's more fun to play.

If you haven't played My Time at Portia yet, I would buy that first instead. However, if you can't get enough of the genre, this is a good fix! I'll probably come back to it in a couple of months to see what's been updated.

(Also, there is a nexus mod that you can install if you want infinite stamina, time, and items. It turns the game into more of a sandbox mode. Playing around with the different buildings is pretty fun!)

This game is very, very bad. I like games where you can build up your town and let your adventurers go off and grind for you, but there is SO much micromanaging in the battle system that you can't even do that, plus you can't even craft things while your adventurers are away. The random events frequently take away a huge chunk of your money, and if you aren't constantly sinking money into the spa, your characters start skipping attack turns, which means you lose battles, which means you can't earn enough money to pay for the spa. And the battles are so SLOW!! This game feels like someone designed a mobile game with a huge pay-to-win money sink, except there's no pay-to-win part. THERE ISN'T EVEN AN EXPERIENCE MECHANIC, you have to PAY TO LEVEL YOUR CHARACTERS AND THEIR STATS!! The in-game fashion contests are also completely random: there's a mechanic where you can bribe the judges to find out their likes, but their preferences reset after every single contest, making this entire section of the game a complete waste of time.

Go play a free incremental game instead, this one feels like it should've been released in early access. Hopefully the devs can overhaul the entire game somehow.

Fun management sim, has a lot of depth to it. The controls are pretty much an idle clicker sim game at first, but they open up once you unlock the fireworks. Try it out!

This game isn't worth 5 dollars, It isn't worth 0 dollars. I have played literally dozens of better escape the room games for free, more than 10 years ago back when flash games were still a thing. Don't waste your time. Terrible leaps of logic and no sense of completion at the end. Just don't.

I like this game. The coin mechanics are surprisingly deep, and extremely addictive. The large number of unlockable classes means you can find a strategy/playstyle that suits you that will be wildly different from someone else's (demon is my favorite). However, I've pretty much run out of content at 10 hours. There doesn't seem to be much point in playing the game after beating the main mode, and the forge, aside from the random daily challenge and finding the rest of the enemies. I haven't played the sea and sky expansion yet, I think I might just so I can have something else to do. The ads for it in-game are kind of obnoxious, especially if you're a completionist. I'd recommend buying this if it's on deep sale or something. Give it a shot!

If you thought 10000000 was light on content, this offers much more replayability. Absolutely worth the money if you like match-3 games with a twist!
