I'm really not feeling this game. The dialog can be funny but I do find a mainish characters voice extremely grating. The game is fetch missions. Though the overworld exploring is kinda cool. But once I progressed past early game I started getting flashbacks of tom nook shenanigans of a purpetural lingering money dump that floats over your head.

I was needing a new game to check out and due to good reviews went with Dave the Diver. I was having a fine enough time with it, the art is lovely, learning a bit about aquatic life, restaurant sim, ect ect. But got to a point where the game offloads a lot of mini game shenanigans. That, on top of: collect anything you see as you swam about, made me feel like I was playing a mobile game. Not really my jam. The game very much feels like a lot of people came together with different phone games they wanted to make, and they made them all. I grew tired of the boggy repetition, and swapped over to sludge life 2 for some reason.

I loved this game waaaay too much. Giant mechs, bullet hell, kickass level goodness. The game is short, but the extra content and solid gameplay make it fully worth a purchase.
