EDIT: recommending the game now because they listened to the outrage and didn't continue with their initial plan of forcing everyone to link their PSN accounts. It's actually a pretty well made game.

When oh when will you companies learn to stop making dumb ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decisions and killing your games that are actually good and will do well. Probably never, who am I kidding?

I played most of the weekend play tests over the last few months. The game gives me all of the good feelings that Battlefield 3 and 4 did, but BF 1 -> BF 2042 do not. It is a statement on what a team of passionate developers can do when they put love, care and effort into their game instead of maximising profits. Add in a willingness to listen to their players and you have a winning formula.

The game graphically looks like Roblox or Minecraft, but don't let that put you off. 10 minutes in the game was enough to convince me that it doesn't matter, because it plays BETTER than most AAA FPS games I've tried, and runs flawlessly on my ancient PC that now struggles with most games.

The developers of this game have created the game that so many of us have been hoping for in today's gaming landscape of disappointment, and they only want to charge $23 AUD for it. It's absolutely ridiculous, and it highlights how broken the gaming industry is.

Much much better than Chivalry: Breakdancing Beyblade Simulator.
This is the exact game I wanted when I first played Chivalry but realised it was a bit of a buggy spinny mess. Skill based combat with minimal pirouettes.

At first I thought soccer with cars was stupid. Now I think it's great fun.
As someone who has predominantly played Counter-Strike and other FPS titles in the past, Rocket League is a breath of fresh air.

Games are short and exciting, which is great for people who don't have the time to dedicate 60+ minutes for one match of another game. There's plenty of skill based mechanics to improve upon and the matchmaking system seems to do a decent enough job at matching you with people roughly around your own skill level.

CS is the only game I keep coming back to after 11 years.
