I can't blame the game for what Sony does. The game is good but Sony isn't.

Early Access Review
First person "city" builder. Explore this open world to discover resources and efficiently automate your base to progress through the tiers. There is some math involved so bring a calculator!

I am on the border with this game. I've spent 1,000 hours playing it. Beating 800% without pausing is one of my top 10 gaming accomplishments. This was while the game was in beta.

But the full release, more specifically the campaign, isn't quite what I hoped for. The lore is super limited and the cutscene quicktime events aren't very attention grabbing or exciting like the trailer. In the campaign the normal builder events became repetitive, the Hero missions were a grind, and the swarm missions became impossible when I chose the wrong tech tree options (fortunately lowering the difficulty allowed me to continue).

On the bright side, the game was released on June 18th and I'm writing this review on June 29th and we're already up to version 1.0.9! The devs are listening and more importantly they are trying to make the game better. So many devs release a game and are never heard from again. The map editor and custom maps offer unlimited variation and the survival gametype offers unlimited replayability if you enjoy city builder and/or tower defense games. The skill curve is incredibly steep but, with the help of the pause feature, anyone with patience can play this game.

If you like city builder/tower defense games, this game is for you. If you like games where the skill curve is incredibly difficult, this game is for you. If you buy games for the storyline or lore, consider looking elsewhere. If you're on the fence find a video online and watch someone play 800% or 900% no pause as this is truly the selling point of the game.
