"Team fortress 2 is awesome"-me reviewing tf2 december 1, 2010

Team Fortress 2 has to be my favorite fps game I have ever played, it was my first game i bought and played on steam along with garry's mod. From a gameplay standpoint it is a shooter with 9 classes that strikes the perfect balance of individual skill and teamwork. Classes do counter eachother and a scout may have a lot of trouble killing a heavy. But it is not impossible to fight matchups like that, in many mobas and class based games *cough* overwatch *cough* you cannot rely on your own individual skill to save you completely. In tf2 however, if you're an experienced scout you can duel and kill the heavy (with a lot of trouble) or run away without having to fight him. The teamwork aspect then comes back again with the gamemodes requiring you to cap points and move payloads tying the game up in a nice little bow. From a humor standpoint the comics, hats, taunts and dialouge all make it to be very silly and comedic. It's a big departure from most serious first person shooters; the cartoony graphics also give the atmosphere of the game a unique style that for sure matches the comedic and fun tone.
The community has shrunken quite substantially since 2010 and this has led many people to believe TF2 is dying, when that could not be more wrong. The community still stands behind this game and it is still one of the most streamed games on twitch, the gameplay keeps it solid and many servers are very very populated by dedicated fans. TF2 is one of my most loved games and will stay that way as long as I live. And hats off ( or put them back on, i know how you guys feel about that) to valve for making such a unique and fun game.

TL;DR TF2 is a great class based fps that continues to stay great to this day due to its comedy, game balance and great community that still supports it.
