once you get past the cutesy whimsical style, its actually really a badass fps. very reminiscent of borderlands and nu-doom. very aim and movement centric.

edit: j/k I cant play this anymore because of secure boot. even after i really didn't want to, I followed the instructions, went into my BIOS and everything and enabled it, it still won't let me even start the game. This game isn't worth jumping thru hoops like this. I'm not touching this game again.

GOAT game. my favorite thing about this game and Valve, that instead of chasing industry trends, they basically just evolved the original game into something better without losing the core that developed 25 years ago. Can't really say the same thing about other franchise series FPS PVP games that have been around for almost the same amount of time. The difference is, instead of lowering the skill ceilings like in other series to make it more accessible for inexperienced players, Valve decided to raise the skill floor with lots of very useful features to accommodate the lower skill players without taking anything away from players with more experience. I would not be surprised to see CS thrive and even grow for another decade or two.

no RNG, no classes, no heroes, no champions, and no cheap easy frags.
High TTK, fast movement speeds, and projectile weapons make camping obsolete.
anyone can understand the game within a minute of seeing it but can genuinely take years to master.
simple and minimalist design that gives it endless complexity and depth.
if you are the kind of gamer who will pour hours into improving their skills, being challenged, and learning all kinds of tricks and techniques, this game is for you.

tons of fun. great to chill and hop around or tryhard and get sweaty. hope to see more content and features in the future.

just wanted to add, the bhop mechanics are the same style of air control that originated with Quake but its not a duplicate of Quake, Half-Life, or CS 1.6/Source/GO/2. To me it feels most like CPMA (minus strafejumping and Q2 style doublejump) but its distinct and feels really great.

honestly surprised how much I enjoy this game. wasnt so sure about the lego/minecraft look but it actually really helps with visibility. very solid gameplay, does what it does very well with no gimmicks. the gunplay/weapons feel great too and all feel distinct and useful for different roles/playstyles.

the most realistic video game ever made

surprisingly active multiplayer community. I'm US East Coast and can find games basically anytime with great ping. shout out to jehar/tastyspleen.

Best game of the series, and I grew up with 1 and 2 on playstation 1.
