an absolute masterclass in atmosphere and environmental storytelling. it's not as long as many other games, or even it's sequel, but it uses the time it has very well. everything from the level design to the dialogue and music and ambience is perfectly crafted to convey the loneliness and dread of being trapped in a long-abandoned science facility with no one but a glitchy AI and a bunch of murderous turrets, while also having some humor to lighten the mood and keep things from feeling too hopeless.

overall, a very good game. probably one of the best. play it.
