My friend On0bi brought this to my attention, to make TF2 alt tab faster go to your game library, right click TF2 and go to propertise, the click on set launch options and put this in -novid -window -noborder -w 1680 -h 1050
The -w and the -h are your monitor's resolution so you may need to change it to fit yours.
