Man this game is honestly, without hyperbole, the worst most pay to win piece of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trash I've played in a long time and it took me being gone for a little over a month playing other games that aren't based around ♥♥♥♥♥♥ korean ported menus and money grabbing schemes.

The controls are alright because they're fairly similar to 2K's but simpler, the character designs are pretty neat, and the special moves you can do(such as Freestyles) look awesome and are fun to use. That, however, is where the positive parts of the game end.

The quality of the translations only gets worse as each day passes and you read more hints, descriptions of abilities, and even game mode instructions, sometimes to the point of just having straight korean characters without translation.

In my personal experience as well as that of my 4 friends I've *fooled* into playing this abomination in the eyes of the Lord it is a trial to simply play the games at times. By that of course I mean we've run into innumerable issues such as: not being able to load into a match, not being able to queue at all with people on your friendslist, queuing with friends and having the game crash, coming into a lobby and everyone being frozen where they are in the court - unable to touch the UI, being forced to throw a baseball pass or alley oop every time you touch the ball, controllers not being picked up, key bindings changing randomly, skills disappearing from slots, all settings relating to sound and resolution being reset so when you relaunch the game you are greeted to a 3k decibel "WE BE BALLIIIIIIINNNN" that you can't adjust for 30 seconds as you load in. The list goes on but I think for my own sanity I have purged some of the experienced from my cerebral.

Every part of this game is simply designed as a trap, I genuinely believe the developers of this game don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about basketball nor video games, they probably were sitting around one day and said "You know what makes a lot of money? video games, we could make one of those." and thus came Freestyle 2: Street Basketball.

You can play the game yourself, get past level 20, and start facing G5 players and people who you over time learn have spent over $500 in this game to buy characters with broken animations, dumped hours and money into rerolling and upgrading attribute cards to have maximized stats, and at that point you will understand why I wrote this run-on sentence rant. They overprice items that do very little in the ingame shop so that when they have "sales" which put them at just above reasonable pricing you feel like it's a steal to buy some piece of ♥♥♥♥ to get an advantage in the game that in the end will make little difference when you face the absolute whales that feed their ego on dominating kids who have only spent $300 because they, too, are depressed they have sunk thousands into this money pit of a game and now their only escape is the joy they get in spamming the emotes they also paid for.

On top of the legitimate players who are slinging cash at the game, you have the hackers that plague higher elo(not that elo matters because there are like 24 people playing the game depending on the time of day). To be honest it's sometimes hard to tell who is a hacker because some of the things accomplished with money are indistinguishable from what would be a hack in most games lmao. The prevalence of these people, or really just the rumor of them alone, has caused many salty players who lose matches to report whoever beat them, that reported player often simply being a whale or a good player who faced a trash one. There is a large amount of temporary banning that goes on but it's actually quite comical because when you do get banned you're still allowed to log into the game and participate in weekly and daily events(of which there are millions) and of course, give Joycity money. Often the bans will last a week or so and the alleged offenders will be released back into gen pop to terrorize ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and honest players with skills or hacks. So in short, even if you spend large amounts of money you may end up getting 360 no scoped for a week for using your duly earned "skillz".

tl;dr great fun game, cute characters, just a little needs a little polish, they've only had 5 years :^)
