It's the best one.
No wiki-diving or farming for levels is gonna help this time around; you just have to get good.
Master the mechanics, learn reactions and patterns, parry the world, never stop going in.

It's genuinely difficult, but once it "clicks", the game is satisfying beyond any other FromSoftware title.

Delve into the fragmented psyche of a mentally-ill, amnesiac detective as he attempts to solve a murder case, who he really is and what it is in his past that haunts him.
Compelling mystery. Great world building. Wild characters and dialogue. Humorous meta-commentary. Masterful writing all throughout.
What an excellent and utterly unique experience.

HARDCORE TO THE MEGA

I love turn-based tactical games and I love the boardgame-esque legacy/campaign nature of this.

Excellent game, highly recommend.

If you enjoy horror themes and don't mind a little bit of weeb ♥♥♥♥, then you'll probably really like this.
Be sure to read nothing else about this game before playing it.

Oh but quick note, if you've had or are close to someone who's had a mental health condition that's led to a traumatic episode, then some of the (disturbing) content could be very upsetting.

But I guess that's kind of par-for-the-course with seinen or horror manga/anime/VNs.

Instant classic.
The art and characterisation of the bosses is incredible.
The gameplay is simple but challenging. Very fun to learn and overcome each encounter - exception being the passive run on Perilous Piers (this sequence is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥).
But no yeah it's great, so go buy it.

Yo this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SICK.

Tight gameplay, compelling story & gameworld, incredible "psychedelic" sequences, dope soundtrack, A E S T H E T I C, super fun character dialogue, WACK secret bossfight - ♥♥♥♥'s just rad, my dudes.

Unfortunately the game's not 100% finished so it feels like it just "kinda ends" at a point, but can't wait for the devs to finish the rest.

I could recommend this to literally anyone, nonetheless.

Some of the puzzle solutions are kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but taking the little hammer to the dude underwater was really funny.

I mean the puzzles are fun and the mystery&choices are compelling as you play through the game, but WOW what an absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ twist reveal.

VLR gets away with it a little because sure I can maybe-kinda-notreally believe how it's hidden from the player, but in this instance it is SO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid and isn't the slightest bit clever.

Godawful reveal aside, there's some questionable writing with character consistency within the series (June and Junpei are baffling), some characters have literally no reason for being here, and there are plot-threads that go absolutely nowhere.

But in the end, still glad I played it. Just don't expect to be satisfied by the end of it.

Unique, compelling and not at all what you expect.
