This game didn't just impress me, it fundamentally changed how I experience open-world RPGs. It set such a high bar that now, every new title I try just feels... different. Hardly any of them can even touch what this one accomplished.

Early Access Review
Those suggesting this game is merely a paid demo probably were dropped on their heads when they were babies. Given its Early Access status, their expectations are unrealistic. Nonetheless, the game is outstanding, offering a rich city-building experience with endless content.
It brings to mind titles like Stronghold 2 and Grand Age of Rome (Imperium Civitas 3), which masterfully blend city building with strategic elements.

Disappointing on multiple fronts, presenting players with a tedious and unfulfilling gaming experience. The universe lacks any meaningful depth or engagement, rendering exploration a monotonous series of loading screens. Every interaction, from entering the ship to traversing planets, is plagued by incessant pauses, detracting from any potential immersion. The game confines players to a system of fast travel, stripping away the excitement of charting their own course. The main mission feels like an afterthought, serving as a flimsy excuse for the introduction of incongruent superpower mechanics.

Updated review:

The game has significantly improved since its release, with fewer bugs and better optimization. It now offers a lot more content, although it would have been preferable to have most of it available from day one. The new maps provide ample gameplay hours and are truly enjoyable to play and replay. It's commendable that Fatshark is heading in the right direction by consistently releasing new free content gradually. Moreover, the ability to purchase appealing cosmetics using in-game currency earned through gameplay is a welcome addition.

Old review:
While the gameplay in the game is impressive and a significant improvement over Vermintide 2, I cannot support the release of an unfinished game coupled with a fully developed cosmetic cash shop.
This approach prioritizes profit over providing players with the complete experience that was promised.

The game is good now, IE is out
However CA must stop this arcady gamestyle of total war and come back to the old and good mechanics such as Med2.

SH 2 is the BEST of the franchise. Everything from castle management and war is amazing.

Seeing your peasants work and clicking on them at different time to see what dialogue they will come up with. Sometimes you must select a peasant way before they even get a profession and patiently wait for them to sit into their working station (innkeeper, stone maker).
How every building is linked to something even greater. A shepherd will produce whole, a cloth maker will make cloth, a page will take the cloth, with enough cloth you will have a ball which will produce honor that can be exchange for good infantry like swordsman or knights.

So many ways of focusing your economy, of building the best looking or impregnable castle.
Do you want to be a good lord that rewards his subjects, with big food rations and low taxes, with parcs and flowers everywhere? Or the bad ruler, that torture his peasants for fun, low rations high taxes, death everywhere?

Its just the best strategy castle building game ever made, no discussion
