such a beautiful game

TL;DR - get this game (along with dsfix) and not remastered. remastered looks like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

there will be no other game like this. imo best souls combat, even compared to its successors. hits the sweet spot of refinement and jank. shame online servers are down, the pvp experience was incredible in its peak, it was like two warriors dancing around each other for a lagstab. i would call this the definitive souls experience, if you want to know where the heart of the souls series is, it's right here. no, not the remastered. this is the real thing right here.

it's a shame after this game fromsoft slowly drifted away from it's storytelling. my favourite thing about this game was the community coming together to learn about it's secrets. so much lore and storytelling around a few paragraphs of text. that's why even with the giant that elden ring is, i don't think it comes close to the experience of unfolding dark souls. even now, it still holds up incredibly well. the mystique of this game will never fail to allure me. it's a game that isn't afraid to let it's player grow with it, and forces the player to get comfortable in unwelcoming circumstances.

thank you fromsoft for the souls series, im sure they aren't done making games, but they are done making games like these. celebrate a masterpiece of media, please, don't let this be forgotten
