Honestly, this is one of my all-time favorites. A great mix of chill-out & satisfying game-play, strategic planning, and the occasional intense moment, usually caused by your own actions (or lack there of). You are a Shipbreaker: a blue-collar worker living in space, cutting up and recycling a variety of spaceships for the Lynx mega-corporation.
=> The story/campaign mode has the various play-modes, allowing from infinite lives to no lives. There's also the 2 additional modes, RACE and free-play.
=> RACE is for anyone wanting to test their skills and speed, competing to disassemble a random ship faster than anyone on he internet.
=> Free-play leans in towards the satisfying and chill setting the game can have. The shift countdown is off, allowing for you to play at your own pace, and the player oxygen & fuel mechanics are disabled, letting you focus on just the task at hand.

Made a cult that was cannibalistic, anti-sacrifice, and made profits off of the tombs of the few we didn't eat. ++

Incredibly fun and nostalgic. Reminds me of days gone by, levels and bosses that I would get my dad's help for, characters and places that I suddenly remembered so well.
Possibly the greatest remastering of any game ever.

A god city builder, where water physics actually matter. It does pretty much everything very well. My only 2 issues are that expanding to other areas feels painful and slow (but that's more to do with skill and patience), and that there's not much to do once you always make/keep more food and water than you expend, no matter how long a drought is.

Tl;dr It's fun, but punishing.
Let's call the genre "Stamina Pattern Combat" or "SPC". So, like most all SPCs, it's very obviously inspired by the SoulsBorne series by From Software. That alone gets some idea for how the game plays. So, I'll just do a pro's and con's list to help making a purchase decision:

PROS
+As long as you read the floating UI, the game has a tutorial zone that explains basic mechanics.
+Armor and weapons are split into 1 of 3 or 6 classes respectively, thus setting a good expectation of how you're play style(s) will work.
+Armor and weapons have enough detailed stats that you can min-max builds.
+You can further customize your build using implants of various effects. You'll have to look at a wiki to see them all.
+Implants and their buffs/quantities stack with more copies.
+Loot farming is much simpler than other SPC games I've played; You want it? Cut it from their cold, dead, metal hands, arms, legs, or heads.
+The longer you go without using a safe area, the more you're rewarded for your skill/brazenness; The game increases a scrap(money) multiplier that goes up the more you have on you and the more you kill.
+You can bank/store your scrap in the safe area, resetting your multiplier, but saving that scrap for later.
+Jumping is easier than in Dark Souls
+Having a full set of a given armor name (ex Wearing the head, arms, legs and chest of the Lynx armor) will give unique buffs

CONS
-Basically all enemies can wreck you; You can walk around a corner, be surprised by an industrial hammer to the face, and then be loading back into the safe area before you can complain about balance issues
-It's incredibly easy to lose your way in many of the environments. Very interconnected, but not enough distinguishing landmarks to really remember.
-It's also incredibly easy to forget or never know what your goal is and why it's a goal
-Many enemies have poor telegraphing of attacks
-Blocking is alright, but you can't move while doing it, and there's only a very poorly explained/implemented counter-attack mechanic
-You only have a limited time (a bit over 2min) to reclaim your stuff after you die (but kills along the way add to the timer)

Find a clan! For goodness sake, find a clan of people you like! It's imperative you like the people you play with regularly.

Yet again gave CoD a chance to win me over. Yet again disappointed with a game filled with questionable mechanics and a campaign pulled from the bottom of a bottom barrel.
