I would say it’s the worthy successor of Wolfenstein the new order. It’s one hell of a adrenaline filled journey.

Initial impression : wow this looks cool. I bet the game will be fun!
After 2hrs: Man, this is such a drag.
After 5 hrs: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this is such a borefest. Are you sure it's from remedy?
Finished the game out of sympathy for Remedy.. That's it.

The feel train is real!


I've became a fan of DONTNOD studio after playing this game.

That moment when Geralt's cg beard is better than your real beard. 😂

Don't judge my review by looking at the game hour I've spent on this game in steam. I have the retail (GOG) version as well, and I've spent 160hr+ there itself on a single run without the blood and wine dlc. 😀
I bought it for steam as well because blood and wine dlc in GOG was costlier than GOTY edition in steam. So played and finished the last dlc here.. 😆

This is one of those games which you install in your ssd drive and eventhough ssd space is costly you cant ever uninstall it even after finishing once or twice.
Actually, this isn't 'one of those games'. It is 'the best rpg ever made till now'.

10 out of 10 without any doubt. I would have given 11 out of 10 if that's possible.

As per users, the game runs like crap in most system, thus the low user ratings. As an owner of quite powerful system, the game ran quite fine for me even before the patches. 50-ish fps on ultra on outside open areas and 70-90ish in indoor area. Which is absolutely fine(if not great) for my taste to be honest (this was pre-patch). Im sure a graphics fanatic, but certainly not one of those fps-crazies to whom anything less than 60 is unacceptable. Even if I'm getting 45 fps minimum, I'm happy.

But after the patches (now on patch 1.3) , the performance has certainly increased. So I have no complaint against the performance, none at all.

Enough of performance talk, let's talk about the game. By the time I'm writing the review, the game has already gotten action/adventure game of the year award of 2016, so you already know the potentiality of this game already, or maybe you don't cause of huge negative impact on steam reviews due to the technical issues it had.

I'm no reviewer so my point of view could be wrong.

One thing I wanna say straight ahead: The game is just absolutely Brilliant!
Arkane Studio surely knows their game. They follows the "if it's not broken, dont try to fix it" approach and that is clearly apparent in their 2nd installment of the famous stealthy first person game. They perfected everything that was there in Dishonored 1. Every game mechanics is more polished and fun to play with. You can have multiple approaches for overcoming problems. And you can build your character like that. Either you can go stealthy merciful soul or you can go full vengeful assassin. Heck, you can beat the entire game without killing anyone, just like first game.

All playstyles have their moment of fun and rewards. And this time it's double the fun, because now you have 2 playable characters who's powers are completely different. So the game will play abit differently for both of them. My first playthrough was with Emily and I must say I just love her character. She is well developed, quite powerful and very enjoyable to play with. Surely I wanna play with her one more time after Arkane gonna release New Game+ later on.

Corvo I haven't played with yet, so can't say his playstyle from personal experience, but I heard he has his own Dishonored 1-ish charm. The game is worthy to play with Emily and Corvo both. It's not linear at all despite of being not open world, cause you can adept different playstyle and the final conclusion will depend upon it. So I'm completely leaving it to the players for playing the game in high or low chaos, the system for what D1 was so famous for. Basically, if you go killing everyone, you will have high chaos, thus dark ending. Or if you like to knock out the baddies rather than killing, you can have low chaos, thus optimistic ending. You are the maker of the story and it'e ending.

Speaking of story, I was a huge fan of the first Dishonored and was kindda unsure how the 2nd game will turn out. But to my surprise, it held up to the first game and more. The story doesn't necessarily require you to play the DLC's of the first game to understand. But you would get more details if you do, the story will open up more and will make sense.

The gameplay, omg...is pure pleasure for fans of old Dishonored. Dishonored 2 polished what they had on the first game and now it's a pure bliss. The high chaos assassin or killer approach is hell lot of fun. Full gun blazing and Slashing enemies with sword while doing combos with powers looks waaaay cool and are very very satisfactory.
And you can even play the entire game without your special void power. There is a 'no power' mode in the game itself. But the game will be tough in this mode.
I find the game little bit easy even on medium, so if you are looking for more challenge then I must suggest to play it on hard.
Not to mention the replayablity it has.

Graphics and art is subjective, and to me, the game is very pretty. Sure, it's not that pretty game in it's time. But the detailed levels and it's art style stood out eventhough the game used old IDTECH 5's heavily modified version (VOID). And the steampunk world they presented is very believable. And as I'm a sucker for artstyle, the game is very much eyecandy for me. loved it!

There are some problem regarding the positional audio that I've found, but it's very negligible and can be overlooked as the game have really cool voice acting, musical scores and audio effects.

Just get the game and play it if you are a stealth game lover, or get it if you are into this genre. The current steam ratings are not doing justice for this game and I must say this game deserves a full 9 out 10 ratings, despite of all the technical flaws it has.

Best SERIOUS Zombie game ever. Period!

Dead Island, Dead Rising, L4D series, and other zombie game became so laugable infront of this game.

Wait, that's it? Seriously? You expect me to play one mission over and over again? In various ways? Till you release the next stage?

Why don't you follow the oldschool way and release the whole game at a same time?

I hate gambling with my money.

I'm a married guy, and after spending 52 hrs with Lara, I noticed I couldn't find my wife or her stuffs in my house. :O
