An exceptionally fun game. One of the rare examples of a Tutorial that's worth something, play it and pay attention and that's all you need. The voices are hilarious, the missions exciting, gameplay varied, arms spaghetti. FOR THE OOOORDEEERRRRR!!!!

A deeply inspired crafting/survival sandbox concept given a full story. Cheerful visual style in a sobering setting, the seemingly open-ended world makes clever use of story points and tech progression to drive the player seamlessly through a consistently surprising and delighting narrative. On top of that, it's an inviting drop in / drop out co-op experience, allowing for both an absorbing singleplayer journey and an awesome mutiplayer one.

I am super impressed with what this game has become in its development cycle, and the full version is absolutely worth being in the favorites list!

Playtime through the story while enjoying all the sandbox elements along the way was 100 hours for two people playing together. Still enjoying the sandbox now and will likely add dozens more hours.

Protecting or commandeering rice has never been so exhilarating. Great maps with very few duds, excellent teamwork mechanics, sounds and sights of the weaponry are punchy and delightful. With a little field awareness, a good 75% of your matches will be exciting and not frustrating. Those 25% will leave you thinking of how you could do better for next time.

Lots of players still, a dozen full servers usually. So far community is mostly great and hilarious to interact with. Very few toxic players.

A truly fantastic and lovingly made game that earned a rotten reputation through shady business tactics on the part of the developer.

The story is intriguing, gameplay is super varied and offers a ton of player freedom, the environments are incredibly detailed and rich with little oddities that describe the world in which you play. Dialogue and characters can be a little hammy, and combat is a bit clunky to accommodate all the stealth and cover options you may want to use. But in true Deus Ex fashion, your path is your own, and your choices have true benefits and consequences.

All that crap you heard about the ending? Yeah, the end sequence is disappointing. No getting around that. It was lazy, and essentially said "yeah we got the bad guy, but there's a bigger bad guy and more mysteries" followed by a LAUGHABLY LAME 5 minute exposition dump via the news, half of which you've already seen by that point. It's meant to wrap up one thread of a greater story that's intended to be finished in the next game... that game may never come because of the commercial flop that the developers brought upon themselves here. But I sincerely hope the next game does come one day, because aside from the dev's marketing schemes (which do NOT effect the game at this point at all), this was a lovely game that leaves me anticipating the conclusion.

Grim Fandango is an adventure rich with charm, character, humor, and cleverness. Though some puzzles may be a little arbitrary at times, it's a small and inconsequential scuff on a wholly brilliant game.

Every character is voiced with charm and wit, every item and action comes with a fun voice line, and every event of the game has a rewarding and moving progression to it. And the music, oh lordy the music is awesome. Fits the atmosphere better than a $200 set of headphones, I only wish some of the shorter tracks had full versions.

If you like puzzles, this game is for you.
If puzzles are meh but you want a gripping story, fun dialogue, and rich atmosphere, have a google search of "Grim Fandango hints" handy and this game is still for you.

It's just so much fun.

A fantastic modernization of the original Half-Life that not only captures the original feel, but adds new depth and life to the environment and characters. Each level is painstakingly crafted with great attention to detail, movement and combat is swift yet punchy, the original puzzles are present yet slightly improved upon (usually), and the whole thing is just a ton of fun.

I have little nitpicky complaints but my only substantial one is that the AI is a little spotty from time to time, and of course the slow updates. Though for a team originally comprised of fans working without compensation, it's an astonishing feat and well worth your 20 bucks, even with the wait for Xen (which is scheduled for December 2017)

If you want to see what all the rage is about Half-Life but can't deal with games from the 90s, get Black Mesa! If you're feeling nostalgic about Half-Life but still want to play something new, get Black Mesa! It's good!

Valiant Hearts is a beautifully made game. With an intricate story and very well done puzzle-based gameplay, you become part of an intriguing and historically accurate account of the First World War. It doesn't avoid the gruesome aspects of war, but does not glorify them either. It paints an accurate and eye-opening picture of the hell that both civilians and soldiers endured for years, and in the end you are left just as confused about the purpose of the war as the characters are themselves.

The actual gameplay ranges from exciting to a little confusing at times, but hints are available for the players that are scrubs (me included). The art style is simple, yet amazing where it needs to be. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a nifty puzzle game, a well written story, or is interested in history.

Fantastic blend of RPG and FPS, with an incredibly detailed and expansive open world. Dialogue choices allow you to be neutral, a saint, or a total dirtbag depending on how you feel - similar to Mass Effect. Easily 80+ hours of gameplay just completing the main story and casually checking off a few sidequests, in all probably closer to 200 if you're going to complete it. Even looking through the screenshots on the store page, I don't think I've seen half of those yet even though I finished the main storyline. Bethesda did a good job of staying true to the world of the original Fallout games while updating it to a more modern feel.

Weapons, environments, and enemies are varied enough. The followers that you can get to join you are nifty too. Sidequests are surprisingly well put together, and even little extra places that have little to do with the main storyline are full of detail and are actually pretty funny. For example: there's a place called the Republic of Dave, a tiny settlement at the corner of the map run by a dude named Dave (obviously), who runs the place like a full-blown country with a constitution, military with one soldier, "Bureau of Dave-like Activities" etc, despite only having about 5 citizens. There's no point to it other than to be another example of how different people in the Wasteland get by, and go crazy, in different ways. Yet you'll spend a good hour looking around here just because it fits well into the atmosphere and everyone there (all 5 of them...) has something to say or something for you to do.

My favorite part of the entire Fallout series is being able to see the history of the world before the nukes dropped. Wherever you look there are extra bits of information in old computers, posters on the wall, or stories from talking to the 200 year old radiated Ghouls who witnessed the war that clue you into how it all happened. Having all of this makes the game much more immersive and interesting, instead of just dropping you into a post-apocalyptic world without explination.

Things I didn't like- I felt like I got the best weapons too soon, and the voice acting could have been a bit better at places. You can tell they're using the same handful of voice actors for about 100 stock characters throughout the game. Not awful, just noticable. Main characters got their own voice actors, like Liam Neeson. That was awesome. In the end, definitely worth the $20 they ask for the game.

Also, tip: the default FOV is pretty tiny. To change it, hit the ~ key to open the console, type "FOV 90" (or whatever you want, the default is 70 degrees) and then hit enter. You can also do other stuff like give yourself inaccessable weapons, such as an orbital nuke launcher, just for the heck of it.
