Early Access Review
A promising game, a lot of fun with friends and I could see the competitive side of it being hype. The game isn't even out of open beta, and the developers are listening to player feedback as well as support traditional grassroot organization. W game, good job Theorycraft Games!

When Unloved became free to own on Halloween 2024, me and my friends grabbed up the game and played it together, not really knowing if the game would be anything we would like, but we tried it on a whim anyhow because it was free.

What we didn't expect was a game that is a lot of fun. Simple, difficult, and genuinely scary at times of desperation. Even a bit of a looter shooter too. The music is atmospheric, the lighting is blinding at times, the level generation can screw you over, and even with the good and the bad, it is still really fun.

Well done Paul, I hope that you are doing better now that you are off the substances that were giving you trouble, and me and my friends are looking forward to any updates you make. (We would really like some new player customization choices and/or private lobbies, It would be sick.)

Lies of P is a masterpiece.

Souls-like is a phrase used far too often nowadays, and the market is over saturated with games emulating the formula FromSoftware popularized. Among the many soulslike imitators, Lies of P stands on its own legs and provides something truly unique among its contemporaries, so far as to say I would not call it a mere "soulslike" game, as it goes above and beyond imitation and creates its own identity.

A narrative that is well explained, yet with enough room left for exploration to expand your knowledge of the world and the characters. Side quests that are made easier to follow in order to see as much of the game as possible. Combat with unique systems that work well together and allow for skill expression and game knowledge. Upgrade systems that give a lot of options for player customization. Bosses are incredible. A soundtrack that is both unnerving and inviting, that at times tug on the heart strings. Customizable weapons to tailor even the minutia of your playstyle.

The art direction is astounding, absolutely unique in the sense that Belle Epoque combined with a dark setting and steampunk is a very fitting style for the story being told.

Ratings:
Story 9/10
Area Design 8/10
Combat 10/10
RPG Systems 9/10
Soundtrack 9/10
Art Design 10/10
Weapon Customization 10/10

This DLC Expansion to Elden Ring is a 9/10. It is indeed a fantastic addition to the game, however I believe it has some flaws that I personally have with it.

The primary issue I have with the DLC is due to the open-ended world that is largely vertical and labyrinthine at times, finding the primary way to gain strength in the Scadutree Fragments can sometimes prove difficult at worst and confusing at best. This isn't to say I think that the fragments are a bad system, rather it is a struggle to navigate to them as well as finding your way around the map. I love exploration in these games, but the map was confusing at times to navigate.

The secondary issue I have: The final boss. While I personally believe the rest of the DLC bosses are incredible and usually pretty fun to fight, the last boss (not going to spoil) is not only frustrating to fight, but also incredibly difficult to read in the second phase. Now before you yell "skill issue" I did beat it, with a dex/int spellblade using the moonlight greatsword. I think it is just absolute nonsense and the visual clarity went out the window with this boss, where I could at least tell what was going on in most other fights.

All in all, an amazing addition to the game that amps the difficulty up quite a bit, but remains very enjoyable. There are some absolutely incredible bosses and the runs to them (Bayle!), the visual design is outstanding all over the place. Well done Fromsoft.

Phenomenal puzzle game, a fantastic visual style that is striking and absolutely insane in scope. The game's puzzles are well designed and very creative. Would highly recommend to those who want a chill, albeit complex puzzle solving experience that feels entirely different than anything they may have played.

10/10.

I'm a bit late to finally review this game, but all I need to say is this:

Everything in this game is fantastic. Genuinely one of the best games I've ever played, maybe one of the best in my lifetime. If you want a fantastic RPG with genuine care and attention to all things in the game, this is it.
Baldur's Gate 3 is a game that has set a new standard, not of just overall quality, but of the love and compassion for the source materiel and for the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

I can't even rate this game on a scale. Just play it, and enjoy the ride. This is probably the best game I will ever play, but we will see where the future takes us.

Last Epoch is a great game, with a lot of potential for the future. One of the best in its genre at the moment, simple to understand at a surface level but not so deep you cannot see the bottom.

While I have yet to fully max out a character myself, I can say the end game is definitely at a good starting point. The Arena, Monoliths (Corruption/Enhanced), and Dungeons all diversify the way you attain loot to improve your character.

Some other pros: Campaign is solid, really enjoyed that. The music is great, especially the theme for The End of Time. The boss battles are genuinely pretty engaging and often well designed. The crafting system is a great way to "create" gear that you actually want, if RNG isn't on your side. The classes are all interesting and build diversity is high.

All in all, I'm looking forward to the future of Last Epoch and I have faith the developers can deliver on both their creative vision, as well as what the community requests.

Edit: Forgot to mention, the game has a full offline mode as well.

I give it a 9/10!
