Worthy successor to SWAT4. Not nearly as fleshed out just yet, but definitely keep an eye on it.

The short amount of time on Steam betrays the 100s of hours I've dumped in this game since its release. Before Operation Flashpoint and its successors stole my heart, this was the defacto tactical shooter for squadron based play. Engagements are short and furious, and the AI is omniscient in true Red Storm fashion, but if you've not partaken in the red headed stepchild of the original Tom Clancy games, you're missing out. If you like old school tactical shooters, this and its expansions are well worth the time.

Every bit as dumb and avionic illiterate as its forebears, but at the same time utterly brilliant. The AI is brutal and highly aggressive and as a long time fan of Ace Combat, as well as other more hardcore sims, I can't help but me impressed by the sheer kinetic nature of the dogfights. There are a plethora of planes for military aviation nerds to ogle over, including some highly imaginative fictional and prototype variants for just about every plane family depicted. Don't just wait for it to leave Early Access, get in this nonsense now and appreciate the glory of chasing some poor F-104 Starfighter down in a F-22 while slowly peppering it with cannon fire.

I have played a lot of World War 2 games, but I have yet to play one that makes my efforts as a lowly foot soldier feel like piddly ♥♥♥♥. I tried this game in early early closed alpha years ago, and I've tried it again to see what has changed. I suppose for the ardent supporters, if they find something redeemable here, they might enjoy it. I instead was greeted by cheesy mechanics rewarding one hit kills with bolt actions, ineffectual rifles, and an overall feeling of futility as I tried to do anything except die. If you want to waste your bandwidth and try, by all means I welcome you to it. This however, isn't a game I would recommend to friends. The sheer progression for weapons is one of the absolute worst I have seen in a Free2Play game. I have seen the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Warframe pulls, and this pulls far far ahead.

Do you value that shiny PPsH all the Russians killed them Nazzys with? Do you want to pay real money for a virtual gun, in an otherwise ♥♥♥♥ experience? If the answer to the latter is no, do yourself a favor and just install Red Orchestra 2 and enjoy a game that encapsulates the horrors and adrenaline the Second World War exemplified.

Counter-Strike without gun hats, 90% more anime, and a dash of badass soundtrack. Why are you reading this? This game has always kicked ass, just go play it.

This is a pretty neat game, it has all sorts of stuff that could be seen as fun. The sheer existential terror and lost generation that follows is not included however, if the devs are taking suggestions I would love to be a disaffected alcoholic writing nonsensical poetry in the sequel to this.

It's a lot like FTL, if FTL was comprised of mega violence and your crew members violently ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ all over your vessel when ever they get the chance.

Co-op is one of those modes that tells a captivating tale.

You are America, insurgents are wait for you.

Insurgents shoot, you shoot.

Death and blood, much profanity spewed.

Knife is useless.

Arma is a series that has always had my intense fascination. I cut my teeth on the early Tom Clancy games, Rainbow 6 and Ghost Recon, so I was no stranger to the concept of a hard infantry sim. I've followed Arma since its inception as Operation Flashpoint, and I have grown to love the series like no other. There are portions of Arma 3 that are more boring than watching grass grow, as you sit in vehicles or tromp around on foot for endless minutes. The real meat of the game though, lies in what can turn into thirty seconds to five minutes of pure chaos. Firefights don't have the corridor of meat puppets that games like CoD or other mainstream shooters have to offer. There are no meticulously rendered setpieces. Instead, everything outside of radio chatter might as well be freeform. You draw attention from a chopper while infiltrating a base, they radio out to a mechanized squad that sends an infantry fighting vehicle armed with a 40mm machinegun. The ground churns around you and your own team as fire and shrapnel turn a stealth mission into a desperate fight for survival. These are things that happen in this utterly unforgiving, but satisfying game.

This isn't a series for the squeamish, and this surely isn't a series where you expect instant health regeneration while you duck down out of the way from canned enemy fire. You will learn to fear the sound of a faint crack in the distance or the recognizable drone of a gunship approaching.

It is Resident Evil 4, what exactly are you expecting. Play as ultimate bad dude Leon S Kennedy as you traipse around Not Spain/Spain and suplex the ♥♥♥♥ out of not-zombies that vaguely resemble creatures from The Thing but can be easily defeated by chicken eggs. Fight giant bosses like giant salamander thing, mute and bald Lou Ferigno, an ogre from LOTR, and many other great creatures. Shoot antiquated pistols at things and marvel at how they drop potted plants and ammunition despite only carrying a pitchfork and a Latin American accent. Best game ever made, and if you don't agree, well, you're small time.
