Unfortunately, I have to change my positive review from 2013.
Between raising the price of an 11 year old game, releasing the most expensive character DLC in the history of fighting games, and now removing and changing content that has been in the game since the beginning, I have no faith in whoever is managing this game now.
Skullgirls is very fun, and the mechanics haven't changed with this update. However, fighting game characters aren't just functions, and games are more than just their mechanics.

In the first blog post on the Skullgirls website Alex Ahad writes, "Some people think that I made the characters to pander to a fan service-craving audience. However, in my mind you can’t really please anyone but yourself, so I start there and figure there are bound to be people with similar tastes. So really I’m doing what I want, and people are welcome to come along for the ride if they’d like to."
I only wish that, instead of trying to make Skullgirls into something that it's not, the current devs could have embraced this sentiment. Not everything is made for everyone, and that's alright.

With this in mind, I can't recommend Skullgirls anymore.

Side note:
I've had some amazing experiences and met some great people over the years because of this game. Even won EVO a couple of times. Some of those people are now on the dev team so, I just want to say that this review isn't personal, and I hope it isn't taken that way.
