This is the most frustratingly disappointing game I have seen in awhile. The best way I can describe it is past its prime. Although I'm not an OG player, I can't deny the influence this game has had on the gaming scene as a whole. With its unique identity, amazing cast of characters, and limitless potential, Valve had their recipe for success right in front of them. And yet, they let it slip away, turning a shining golden game into an unfun broken mess. People need to open their eyes and see just how bad this game has truly become.

Valve may have gotten rid of the bots, but that was after years and years of loyal fans begging them to do so. In fact, I believe the only reason action was taken in the first place was due to the bots posting illegal content within the game. Even with the bots gone, however, the game's fanbase has already garnered quite the reputation in modern times.

I have been in and seen a lot of bad playerbases, but I don't think I have seen a playerbase more actively repulsive and cancerous than the TF2 playerbase. Of course, there are some shining nuggets of gold in the heap of trash, but day after day I have watched my games fill up with some of the most toxic and malicious players I have ever had the misfortune of being within the same server of. It's now gotten to a point where a game with normal upstanding people is as rare as finding a sugarcube on the moon.

With a bad playerbase comes bad tendencies. I have seen alot of games recently get flak for their anti-cheat, but the anti-cheat in TF2 is so ludicrously bad that it might as well have been shut off for the past 5 years. There is no exaggeration when I say that 1/3 of my games have some form of a cheater in them, and that isn't counting the ones who do it so subtly that you can't notice it. Top that off with a chat that filers practically nothing, and you get a combination of cheaters who get away with some of the most disgusting words ever put to a screen.

This game is like your grandpa war veteran. He's had his glory days, he's been heralded as a hero, and he's known around the town for the things that he has done. Nowadays, though, all he does is rot in his rocking chair and occasionally spat out slurs.

To summarize, I cannot in good faith recommend this to any new player curious enough to try the game out. Some things truly are best left in the past.

Early Access Review
One of the most unbalanced games I have ever played. Survivors can't heal unless they grind for 1 perk (which you only have 1 slot btw, AND you have to buy the perk again at a higher price to tier up), there is no anti-tunnel system, killers can camp the pillar so the survivors lose even after all puzzles are solved, there is little to no anti-loop, the game can randomly kick you when you finally play as the killer, and the puzzles become tediously long after awhile. The Mob devs also clearly haven't learned from their NFT backlash, since they implemented microtransactions and a battle pass on their day 1 beta broken game. A truly soulless game.

Got past The First Day and I already cried twice. 10/10 would suggest antidepressants beforehand.

Reviewing a game like this can be hard, which requires the community to be a good one to make a good game.

Sadly, both community and game are very flawed.

If you were to answer "how do we make a game about escaping and killing over-powered monsters fun?" The answer is not this game. It's the game you play when you don't feel like spending money on another game and are a fan of SCP, but other than that I'm not sure why I spent so long playing this game.

Unlike most other games, the core game-play is sitting in a spectator chat and having to bear with the overly unfunny and annoying players until it's time to re-spawn and die two minutes later.

Most youtubers frame the game as if it's a fun game of cat and mouse with laughs and giggles along the way. It's more akin to sitting in silence, dying, and occasionally coming across someone with a mic and hoping they're atleast interesting to talk to.

Whenever you play as SCP, you get to feel fun and like an actual monster. That is, unless, you either become the FNAF-like computer. Or the sluggish and weak 049. Or 106, which can be contained in less than 4 minutes. And even if you want to be one of the other fun ones, then you're going up against a 1/30 chance of actually playing it.

Overall, this game feels like it needs others to disguise its gameplay, and even then the community can't help. If you're looking for a quick free game, then sure. But otherwise, don't think you'll be in for a good time.
