This game really hooked me and I enjoyed it a lot! It scratched that armored core gameplay itch, and the customization is a lot of fun. I'm really happy with the $20 i spent, it's a solid 8/10 for me.

Now that I've finished my first playthrough, i have to say the game is too easy. My first death didn't occur until about 10 hours in, and I defeated every boss first try. Maybe chalk that up to a few good builds and
careful play but even then... idk. The nymph fights are definitely where I had the most fun, but they're over so quickly, give me more!! Balancing feels a bit all over the place, melee feels waay overtuned, SMGs mog assault rifles. heavyweight frames could probably do with even more defense, they still feel pretty squishy for how big of a mobility hit they take. Lightweights can even squeeze some pretty heavy weapons on them so they just don't feel worth using. plenty of other balance stuff too.

As for the level design, I enjoyed exploring a lot, but the areas did start to feel a little samey after a while. I'd love if certain head or utility units could maybe even display a mini map or something on the hud, it would be nice for backtracking when everything is grey and blends together. A decent chunk of items are tucked away in areas only accessible with rocket or flight legs so i didn't love how encouraged i felt to use those in my playthrough.

The story was pretty cool, I'd honestly prefer if they didn't go the dark souls cryptic route but it's not the end of the world. I still enjoy reading the item descriptions for bits of lore, but I want to hear more from the characters themselves. and maybe make quests a bit more straightforward to follow too. I would also appreciate an english dub eventually or for the next game.

I hope they make a sequel, I want to see what they can do if everything gets more fleshed out. pvp or coop modes could be a lot of fun as well!
