Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has had a rough start, marked by server issues that resulted in long download times and significant connectivity problems. These problems were especially noticeable in certain regions, with players reporting wait times of up to 21 hours due to server congestion. The game’s reliance on streaming large amounts of data exacerbated the issue, making the experience frustrating for many. This reliance also puts a strain on users with limited internet bandwidth, further complicating the ability to access and play the game smoothly.

Despite the technical challenges, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 brings impressive improvements to the flying experience. The physics feel more realistic, with enhanced ground effects, turbulence, and a greater sense of inertia in the aircraft. Flying, especially in high-performance planes like the Super Hornet, feels more authentic but they do require re-learning of controls. However, issues persist with some aircraft, as many still suffer from malfunctioning instruments and unresponsive controls. These technical issues can break immersion and detract from the otherwise engaging flight dynamics.

Given the current state of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, it might be worth sticking with Flight Simulator 2020 for now, while the visual improvements and physics updates are a step in the right direction, the game still has a long way to go before reaching its full potential. Bugs and performance issues are still prevalent, particularly with the aircraft's functionality, which leaves much to be desired. The game’s heavy data demands and server reliability issues make it clear that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 may not be ready for a seamless experience just yet. Despite these setbacks, the foundation is there, and the game holds great promise if the developers can address these concerns in future updates, but until then Flight Simulator 2020 is still the better option if you want a good stable platform.

Ships at Sea delivers a serene yet captivating maritime experience that will charm both casual and dedicated simulation fans. As a mix between a ship management simulator and a technical exploration game, it offers a great sequel to MISC games Fishing: North Atlantic & Fishing: Barents Sea.

Game play
The game excels in providing players with a detailed and immersive world. From managing cargo and navigating treacherous waters to repairing your vessel during mid-ocean storms, every aspect of seafaring feels authentic. The controls are intuitive, though beginners might find the navigation mechanics challenging at first. Thankfully, the tutorial is well-structured, easing you into the captain's chair.

Graphics and Sound
The visuals are a standout feature. The ocean feels alive with dynamic weather systems, beautiful sunsets, and realistic water physics. Coupled with an ambient soundtrack and environmental sound effects, Ships at Sea nails the nautical atmosphere.

Replayability
The game shines in its open-ended structure, where no two voyages feel the same. Random events and environmental challenges keep game play fresh and unpredictable. Whether you're transporting cargo, exploring uncharted waters, or simply enjoying the sights, there’s always something to keep you engaged.

Downsides
While the game has plenty to offer, some minor bugs and occasional performance drops can interrupt the experience. Additionally, hardcore sim enthusiasts might find certain mechanics too simplified. A more robust multiplayer mode or deeper customisation options could enhance the experience. Often the updates do break save games which can be frustrating especially when you're in the late game.

Verdict
Ships at Sea is an enthralling voyage that combines strategy, exploration, and technical game play. Despite minor flaws, it’s a rewarding game for anyone who dreams of sailing the high seas.

Rating: 6/10
The rating will improve once more ships and mechanics are introduced, Like being able to adjust the Beaufort Scale during a game.

Pro:
- incredible graphics
- very high realism in most details (YouTube videos from actual pilots confirm the degree)
- Weather system / Clouds quality is absolutely next generation level
- You can also choose live weather / wind / conditions .. which is fantastic !
- You see other pilots and their planes (collision with planes/cars/trucks is disabled, so, not stressful when people just ignore the rules)
- Great payware and study level aircraft available through the marketplace and 3rd party stores.
- Authentic simulation of ATC radio communication Airport/Tower... you even have ground services where you request refuelling or a push back for your plane..

Pro-verdict: 100% the most advanced, beautiful and immersive Flight Simulator today for PC
- we've got a modding community already working on new planes / buildings / airports / landscapes and even
bug fixes.

Con:
- It's not finished (Many elements in the cockpit of bigger jets don't work yet)
- The map still needs a lot of fixes/improvements, but since we're talking about the entire earth -> it is already amazing and awesome.. just, not finished. So, not a bad "con".
- Biggest complaint -> Autopilot. The autopilot for the jets has horrible bugs, and can crash your plane easily.
It's far from reliable ! More details in below in the dev-section.
- you'll need a high-end PC for getting awesome graphics with good FPS, but that's logically to be expected ;-)

Neutral:
- Many big buildings all over the world are missing, since that's enormous work to be done, and much of it will be added later and / or can be bought from community modders.

Verdict:
In my opinion, if you can live with not trusting the autopilot yet and wanna learn and enjoy, I recommend you buy. The game is already awesome.

Nothing better then simulating a steam engine on Steam and tinkering with the valves

Joking aside this really makes me look forward to the release of Engine Simulator

Just the same as previous F1 games. Only with added lifestyle activities, such as decorating a home or driving a street car.

Take your time and plan. Set everything up just right then run, jump and drive your way to a perfect crime. This is more a puzzle game than anything but quick thinking can save you when your plans all go down the drain. When the action starts you have 60 seconds to execute your plan and most of the time this is just barely enough. Strategic destruction, brilliant!

Finally a way around Vegas.
SCS has put effort into this state DLC.
It is a good looking state very much like new Mexico.

Is it worth getting?

At the moment hold out for a sale, you would be better off buying Oregon, or Washington first as that is more eye candy then Utah, with a few more interesting areas to explore.

This Game...
Its just like Euro Truck Simulator 2, but with;
Fewer Vehicles,
Better Graphics (Base Not modded)
and longer driving times.
It is great for spending a few hours in every now and then but with less content then ETS2 I am finding myself playing more of that then ATS unless friends are driving in Truckers MP.
