Love this game, so beautiful and super immersive in VR!
One of my favorite VR experience honestly, it just feels awesome when you're flying away from an enemy fleet and turn your (real) head back to look through the window and check if they are still following you.
The art's amazing, the controls feel great, the music's great, the voice acting is pretty good too... Not much to complain about.
The story telling's pretty basic with animated realistic comic book cutscenes as you progress where your character just remembers stuff. Not really anything mindblowing here.
Haven't finished the game yet (don't mind my game time, mostly spent doing runs when the game was unfinished during beta) so can't tell more yet.

So far this is probably a good 8/10 for me.

Great multiplayer dungeon crawler with great level design in the vein of the old games like Chaos engine or Gauntlet. Lots of secrets worth searching to survive the entire campaign, fun character classes and excellent soundtrack. The first boss battle is kinda confusing though.

Even if I understand the bad ending was a really bold decision from the devs, the good ending is not "impossible" to get or obscure. If you see an item that looks incongruous and is hard to get in a level, then you probably lack curiosity not to expect this to have a use later on! If you enjoy arcade action, exploration and secrets then you'll enjoy this game for sure.

The desolate hope is a strange game.
You can totally feel the "clickteam engine" feel in the whole game and a lot of things feel very amateurish ( scene transitions, level design, absence of AI in the platformer phase) and the platform part of the game (a good 70% of the game) are uninsteresting.

HOWEVER, the boss battles alone are so different from anything I've played and so awesome that it makes the game really unique. The story is pretty original and the world building's good, I really wanted to know more about the derelicts and their story. The boss' designs are excellent too,

In the end its a very unique game that wont be for everyone. If you can go through the rough aspects of the game, go through the kinda grindy parts where you collect money to get upgrades then you're in for a very fresh experience.

Great old school RPG with clear influence from Final Fantasy 6 and FF mystic quest.
The game's kinda like FF mystic quest but with a decent story (Replaying it, it really had the most basic story ever...) and a really interesting battle system.
Musics dont loop very well for a lot of songs which fairly annoying and few songs are actually memorable (especially problematic for the basic fight and boss theme that you'll hear many times) except for a couple ones.
Art's done by one of the best pixel artists around and looks all around gorgeous.

Overall if you're craving for an old school RPG with a more western style of writing and characters with strong personalities, then you should really consider buying this.

There's nothing like a robot fish double headbutting everything in sight.
7/10, would blub again.

Love it. Fluid controls and awesome feeling of freedom.
It also has great UI and sound design!

What a gem! Didn't expect much from this game but it's actually an amazing mix in small doses of bethesda style rpgs, dark souls & japanese rpgs, however it does not suffer from the often ridiculous designs from J rpgs ( that I m personally tired of) and knows to stays classy. There are still bikini armors but aside from that it s all done with really great taste. For exemple, the castle even follows pretty well medieval designs all while every map maintains really great level design: searching is very rewarding with secret chests and hidden stash in all kind of places.
Surprisingly even platforming is fun here. Playing as a strider, running around and double jumping feels really good!

Fluid class system allows you to play the game any way you want, you re not tied to your first class and can really create any build mix you can think of!

Action feels good and is responsive. Your companions have quite great AI honestly and I find myself not wanting to murder them when I play, which is so damn rare that I'm gonna applaud in real life right now. Sure once in a while they ll jump in the water and die but then you'll a slow motion cam on them while they throw one last swear so you can point at them and laugh for their stupidity. Talking of stupidity, pawns are shunned by humans and vaguely considered stupid in a bunch of conversations, major selling point right there.

Character creation is super thorough and you can make dumb looking weirdos. Spent 1 hour each on my hero and main pawn. Who wouldnt want a 6'6 tall green skin hare krishna viking wearing a monocle ? Who ?

Writing is good! Voice acting is above average ( not perfect, but not bad at all either)! Crafting is not a chore, non mandatory and is done easily!

Flaws so far:
-lots of back tracking and running around to do the side quests.
-musics are good, especially the combat tracks but often absent. Exploration phases really miss some ambient or chill tracks.
-pawns repeat the same things everytime you go to the same places, wish it was random wether they spoke or not. However what they say is a really smart way to give players hints or tips on where to go or how to approach certain monsters or even quests.
-graphics are dated. Characters look pretty good still but environments and lighting aged.

story is alright so far. Not far enough into the game to really judge if it ll shine or stay a classic tale.

Overall, a very cleverly designed games done with love. Lots of cool details in every aspect, deep systems and fun action. 9/10

OH I forgot to mention you can climb any large monsters you encounter! THAT'S RIGHT. Just jump and grab and boom, you're clinging to that cow's butt! It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome.

Maybe the most beautiful pixel art game ever made? It also happens to be a lot of fun to play! :D

This is the diablo-like with the most depth and design complexity I've ever played. There's so much character development possibilities, the game is amazing at giving tools to create the most crazy and ambitious builds and to make it incredibly rewarding. From the gigantic passive tree, to the crazy combination of gems you can make or how certain unique items completely change how some skill works... It's so amazing at letting you be creative and come up with ways to grow your character!
And then the world of wreaclast is just amazing to explore, lots of lore and a very grim and dark setting reminding of the best parts of diablo 1. The soundtrack is incredible as well.

Hand down my favorite diablo like and one of my fave games of all time, and it's truly free (money only gives cosmetics and inventory management help).

The few cons
- you cant turn the camera, meaning its best to attack enemies from the south when you're a long range hero.
-Self Founds will have a hard time progressing in the end game.
- Act 2 is unfortunately pretty boring compared to the rest of the game.
