Can't actually win if playing in single player mode. Maybe if stars align or you get very lucky.
Controls are annoying at times especially because you need to drop your broom to open doors but instant you do, enemies will swarm you and your weapon is said broom that you need to grab, but accidentally close the door and then open it again and then run because you are nearly dead and that is how you loose a room... oh, and you forgot the broom but you have no money to buy another...

If there is a single player mode then there should be possible to play in a single player mode...

I really thought I’d like this game. It looked like it had all the elements I like, but after playing it I cannot recommend it to anyone, and I played it to the end, hoping…

Short:
  • - FPS
  • - Video settings
  • - Voices
  • - Humor
  • - Lack of journal or objective tracker
  • - Too many pointless collectibles
  • - Linear
  • - And humor again…
  • + none

I’ll start with FPS and video settings, since that is individual for each player, some may not experience it, but I have to say that I could barely make it work. On medium/low setting I got barely 15 fps and constant stutter and freezing while moving or turning. I also found out, by accident actually, when I almost gave up the game altogether, that if you go to “custom video settings” by scrolling to the left you end up with lowest textures no matter what you choose, but if you land on the “custom video settings” while scrolling to the right, then you can actually change something, not that it helps much…

The game is absolutely linear, which doesn’t necessarily have to be bad, but here, it is. Also for “more complex” puzzles you have “placeholders”, that is, an outline of an item you should place there and interact with it. Sometimes it can be illuminating since puzzles are not always intuitive, but when I have a tower of items to place at some location, it is ridiculous if you can place the top part to float in the air while you go and find the rest…

There is also an issue with objectives. When you fulfill some invisible objective, you get a message on the screen that points you to the newly open area or the next task, but if you haven’t been paying really close attention (and you never know when you should pay close attention) you will miss the message and there is no way of seeing it again, so you have to hope for the best… Also very missable are the items you can interact with, even though you can sometimes see them from a long way since they sport a white outline.

Voices and visuals are bad for the most part, and I am not one of those that puts much by graphics if the game is good. The voices of the “big mean corn” (can’t remember if it has a name) is ridiculous and unbelievable, like when an adult is trying to pretend he is a surly, spoiled brat, but very poorly, mind it. And Vlady… sigh…

That brings me to humor. First few times you’ll laugh but there is two main themes and then you get bombarded with them like million times. Vlady calls you stupid idiot, every few steps, literally, every few steps, and there are those post-it notes where two men are calling each other stupid idiots… in every room on multiple post-it notes. Tedious.

Collectibles, oh, those collectibles… There are 75 of them and they are stupid and pointless and you have to collect them because until you pick them up, you might actually think they are just the thing you need to solve a puzzle, but then you see they went to the collectibles tab. And don’t get me started on the outrageous stuff you pick up and the accompanying descriptions of said stuff. The humor was lost on me.

The only positive thing I could say about it is a story, but a story that could have been, not this poor execution – so this positive thing, is actually a negative at the end.

Relaxing and fun game. Fast to finish. If you have it, play it!
