Without spoilers... at the end there's a choice you can make. And I made a particular choice. The game has you watch as your friends tell you about how that choice affected them. It's very powerful. I surprised myself by being emotionally affected by this outcome. Whatever you think about the rest of the game, the fact it can have this kind of emotional impact is a rare quality in games.

I created my RL wife in the game as a salt and pepper cat lady named Leigh the Treatgiver, Exalted Lady of the Purring Tyrants. She led her band of fanatical imperialist dark kittens into battle with her trusted heroic kitten-mage Ravi. Ravi died, but we got her remains back after about 50 turns and managed to resurrect her.

Then we enslaved the ghost-birds and made a bunch of ghost-bird-wizards.

We also managed to capture a red headed cannibal lady who had been turned into a dwarf by a miniaturization spell. All of her wild barbaric orc people were also dwarf orcs? She had a sword that would kill things in one hit and that was twice her size.

Good game so far.

A very solid boomer shooter wrapped in an annoying and unnecessary campaign system. The shooting sounds like a bass element that would be appreciated. Enemies are squishy, but not quite in the visceral way of brutal doom. A very solid game, but misses the mark in a few places. Overall level design is excellent with a good use of narrow halls, monster closets, wide open spaces, etc.

Why would I review a game I've only put 620 hours in? Seems premature.

So then was World cast in Shadow and Plague and Damnation

Thirst Slaked

They fixed it and it is good.

Remember to stack Temper.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeagh! Kill! Slay! Burn! Maim!

Really fun FTL style adventure game. Quite challenging, with a lot of events to keep the game fresh.
