If you're looking for a very solid top-down 2D Zelda game, this is it.

The game is super reminiscent to Tunic. Essentially, the game has no words. Instead, you're left to puzzle out what you need to do and how through pictures and exploration.

I think the exploration is what really makes this game amazing. You get a lot of "Aha!" moments from just walking around the world and figuring out things. The upgrades you get are fun and open up the world even more, and that's what makes the game very satisfying.

I really wanted to like Teslagrad 2.

The first Teslagrad was an innovative puzzle platformer that was charming and pleasant. It was a little rough around the edges, but it's theming and puzzles were fun and delightful. Being able to accumulate different polaric powers was so exciting and memorable!

This game fails to capture those feelings from the first game.

First of all, the game is very short. I was able to complete the main story in less than 2 hours, which is terrible. Even the original game, while also short, was at least 6-8 hours long.
Secondly, the powers can feel a bit awkward to maneuver with. Early on, you get lots of mobility powers but they feel extremely clunky and unsatisfying to use at times. I especially disliked the feeling of repelling myself away from magnets. For some reason, the physics were uncomfortable and it was hard to make it work.

There's a power very late in the game that I thought was extremely innovative and clever, but since it's the last one you get, there's not a lot of time spent exploring the mechanic.

Overall, this game was a huge letdown. I was looking forward to the sequel of the original Teslagrad having more powers, puzzles, and adventures to explore. Instead, it was an insultingly short adventure that was SHOCKINGLY lackluster.

If you haven't tried this game out, PLEASE give it a shot. I promise your first playthrough won't take more than maybe 4-6 hours, but it will be the greatest thing you've invested your time into.

Also, try your best to go into this game knowing as LITTLE as possible. Trust me, it will make your experience much MUCH better.
