Good concept not great execution everything feels just a bit Meh, the gunplay, enemies, movement all of it. Its Call of Duty Zombies on a massive budget. A more experienced dev needs to take on this concept as its a good idea just needed more work

Absolutely essential Half-Life 2 mod to play. Excellent in every way really hope for another part. Possibly the best mod for any game I've ever played

For me its basically what Fallout 4 should have been. Plenty of RPG parts making your levels actually matter especially in conversation its not just max speech/charm and pass every conversation ever, actually interesting dialogue that actually feels like you say what the text says you are going to say, solid shooting, great variety in how the enviroments look thanks to how you visit multiple planets and ships. Obsidian just doesn't disappoint they gave us what we wanted here.

Appeals to all your childhood nostalgias in the best way possible, this game feels wholesome and fun to play and never fails to put a smile on my face, gets a lot of updates plenty of challenges to do and cosmetics etc to unlock and no you cant buy them you get stuff for actually playing the game like the good old days. This game and its developers does/do everything right well worth your money.

REALLY good, id pay triple the asking price honestly.

This really is some kind of blend of Dark Messiah and Dark Souls, Way more Dark Messiah in the way the combat feels and its diversity etc, with almost a runescape like weakness and resists to damage types like some enemies are weak to slashing weapons but heavily resists piercing weapons like spears for example. The way its like Dark Souls is it has "fountains" which are effectively bonfires which allow you to reset and heal but resets enemies or just activate them to make them your spawn point without healing or resetting/respawning enemies and you also have to go to them to spend "essence" which are exactly the same as souls in Dark Souls games and you lose unspent essence or souls if you prefer on death but they do something even better with this and i've come across a weapon from a boss that does more damage the more full your essence/souls/xp bar is so theres a fun risk reward between more damage but risking your essence and also not leveling up which is engaging.

Anyway combat is really fun and fast, there's a ton of weapons that vary greatly and feel different enough that you want to play around with all of them both for fun AND necessity it has dashes and blocking and parrying for different playstyles and sometimes you need to use certain ones as some attacks are unblockable for example. its Dark Messiah but with that fun risk reward and weighing up each fight style of play the Dark Souls provides. An absolute gem of a game that deserves to be sold for WAY more than it is. honestly if you like either Dark Messiah OR Dark Souls i think you will love this but MAAAAAN if like me you love both you will be in heaven with this game, absolutely pick it up.

I will change my review when/if the developer finally fixes this bug that i've seen many posts on steam discussions and tweets to the dev on twitter that seem to get ignored going back atleast 6 months now:

There is a bug where your resolution will continue to swap to a really small resolution that leaves black bars to the left and right, the image fills less than half of my 24" monitor, swapping resolution lasts until i finish a level and it loads another which it will swap back it makes me not want to load the game. I wish i didnt put up with it for 2 hours so i could refund.

The game is great for anyone who loves oldschool shooters but not till the devs listen and care and fix this bug it ruins the game. Please Buckshot PLEASE fix this i love your game but i hate this bug that you just wont fix.

Edit: I have discovered this only happens when i have my dual monitors on. If i swap to 1 montior only it works fine. If the devs see this and it helps then great but please fix this for dual monitor users

2nd Edit, i made my post on the steam forum for this game in December 2019, its now November 2020 still no comments anywhere from Dev's on mine or anyone elses posts about this and no fix. Do not buy this game the Devs do not care about you or your experience with this game it would appear.

The original is better somehow, the game is blurry for some reason, if you increase your FOV all it does is zoom EVERYTHING out including the stats boxes when you look at weapons etc on the ground so if you play above 90FOV good luck seeing anything, there's CRAZY mouse acceleration, the map markers dont work properly (dunno if its a co-op bug im playing in co-op) the minimap sometimes just displays a blank box when you transition areas, it genuinely looks WORSE than the original game by a large margin someohow... i dunno how they messed it up so badly just get and play the original this is NOT enhanced.

Everything i wanted it to be and more. The main game is just a way better looking and imo feeling Half-Life and Xen went from being just acceptable to a highlight of the game maybe even the best part of the time. an utter joy to play start to finish i didnt want it to end. It took a long time getting here but MAN was it worth the wait. This is the only way i'll probably ever ply the original Half-Life ever again.

One of the best value propositions ever made. The developer clearly cares as they kept giving free DLCs, the combat isnt terribly complicated but it is satisfying and works well the true highlight of this game is the parkour system that if you are anything like me will have you just mindlessly climbing and jumping around buildings for hours making no progress in the game itself. Brillaint game especially with friends.

Possibly my favourite platformer of all time behind ratchet and clank if you call that a platformer. took me about 19 hours to 100% and i immensly enjoyed every last second of it, great tight controls fun to use abilities enjoyable collectables and reskins etc, amazing and creative boss fights, the voiceacting is great, all the characters are likeable and memorable and you will get attached to then, the worlds/chapters/maps are a sight to behold especially chapter 4 (i wont spoil anything) that if you are like me and enjoy the visual side of a map will have you taking screenshots like nobodies business. The soundtracki is absolutely amazing too. You get your money's worth with this and then some at the price i payed in 1 playthrough i payed less than £1 per hour of my time and thats before i ever play it again or dive into its steam workshop content. This is an oldschool collectathon platformer at its finest, all of the good none of the bad. If you like the genre you are only hurting yourself not buying this masterpiece.
