Fun game, disappointing development choices.

Probably the third biggest tragedy I've seen Gun Media produce, right behind my earnest excitement to play this game in the years leading to its release, but leagues behind the genuine travesty that is losing Friday the 13th: The Game.

Give it a spin on a heavy discount.

Early Access Review
Sucks slightly less now, but no new roles and some of the animations are missing. Add vampires to everything.

Game sucks ass. Wasn't ready for launch. No party system, no cauldron, only half the cinematics are present, and the king maker philosophy is still just as stupid. Skip this game.

(20 hours later)

Re-add the Medium.

Add a fourth faction (possible vampires).

Change trickster so it's not a diet veteran.

Change spy so it's not ass.

Change coroner so you can actually get "clues" to who the killer is (i.e. killer is #1-7, odds only.)

Make dreamweaver fun.

Give conjurer an alt ability.

Buff shroud and werewolf, or make it so that they aren't 25 cent serial killer, or make it so that neutral evil killers that aren't serial killer can win together.

Turn bodyguard into survivor.

Delete retributionist or make it so that they can actually raise players back from the dead.

Just delete amnesiac.

Quit saying all this ♥♥♥♥ about kingmakers, just make the game's roles diverse, interesting to play, and above all, fun.

(First impression)
I like what they're doing, but they still have some ways to go.

The new UI is slick, but sometimes feels a little cluttered, mainly with the giant solid-color player list box in the bottom right hand corner.

Your camera is now locked in place during town meetings and you can no longer drag your mouse to "explore," which was always something I appreciated when the game started to stagnate.

There don't seem to be any duplicate characters/skins in lobbies, which is a shame because I sometimes want to actually play the character I chose.

There are a cream ton of new roles, but classic limits almost all the evils to the same five basic archetypes, while I feel TOS1 was more versatile in the broad categories of roles available.

The main menu looks like crap, and the witch's brew is absent.

There are only a quarter of the skins and houses available, maps are no longer available in the shop, and some of the skins are locked behind prerequisite characters you have to purchase.

You're allowed free movement after death, but that is the extent of the interactivity. When I first saw free movement, I thought they would tailor some of the classic gameplay to include it more often, but now it's only available after you've died.

The clock at the top no longer displays the day, which is annoying.

Now, the new art style for the game is fresh and gives the game its own refined personality.

I like the addition of all the new roles, some of which integrate previous failed gamemodes as available choices.

All Any is still the best gamemode.

And, to be quite frank, the rest is just Town of Salem, but resold for ten dollars. The only incentive for purchasing it was the higher than usual playercount that I saw, which will probably stagnate and decline in the near future. The game itself is just the same experience, but with less charm. Nothing really stands our or impresses me, other than the fact that they had the balls to sell this game for ten dollars.

I'm still debating on whether I will refund it or not.

Game is surprisingly good as a step up from 2016 and not just a direct extension of everything present in 2016 with a new polished sheen. Integrate online features with offline mode NOW.
