With having only played a very short amount of time of one of the older Farming Simulators and, at the time, not interesting me, somehow this one stood out to me and called me. Within a week of owning it I have put in over 2 days of play time and I am certainly addicted, this is with a full time job mind. It is satisfying and actually enjoyable.

I read that people who have played a lot of FS 19 dislike this one for one reason or another, but if you are new to the franchise or have played an older version than that then I do recommend it. Still has derpy physics and such but it is still really enjoyable. I have heard of issues with the multiplayer, however I have not got around to trying out that yet.

EDIT (26/06/17) - OpenIV is coming back! Take two is in talks with the devs of OpenIV, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ finally.

Singleplayer -

Decent story mode
Modding scene (was) huge
Could do anything pretty much because of the mods

Multiplayer -

♥♥♥♥ off
Microtransactions
Grind
Everyone ♥♥♥♥♥ on you
Masses of repetition each update, just reskinned things that can already be done

Considering OpenIV has now pretty much been destroyed by them (Take-Two interactive) mods are being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over, single player is being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over, screw em. In the past I would have recommended it but now, everything is utter ♥♥♥♥.

Overall Judgement - Brilliant game, worth the money and heeps of fun.

Review -
To start with, the base game is great. There is enough content there to have fun with for a fairly long time, especially with the zues mode and its on the fly mission editor style of play. The multiplayer can be great fun if played with the right people, just like any other game of course, however this one you will NEED the right people otherwise it will get tedious and boring.

To expand from the base game there is the Steam Workshop and many other websites where you can download a whole crap tonne of mods from the incredibly active modding community. These can vary from simple tweaks to the original game like sound tweaks and ragdoll physics all the way to large collections where it adds a whole host of modern vehicles and expansive maps. This will increase the play value of this game well over 300%!. The only reason I have over 400 hours of play time is due to having so many mods that I have great fun with and other people to have fun with.

If you get this game then you will see that it is all near future technology and even some current tech, however if you are like me and prefer the modern style of things then mods is the way forward.

Like mentioned right at the start, this game is well worth the money, the dlcs are more of just a little side thing if you wish to support the devs. They cost a fair amount and to be honest you could get similar things with mods, with the exception of things like shooting out of vehicles and stuff (which is given to everyone for free might I add!).

Early Access Review
Great game (even with its bugs in the early access stage). Recommended to people with friends to play with.

Best part is to handcuff someone and tease them :D.

Brilliant game. Very mil sim like (as it is supposed to be) however due to it being a bit old it has a few bugs such as rocks and collisions.

I bought this game mainly for the DayZ mod that was made for it (just like many other people) but here is the thing, i played this more than i did the mod. After playing a bit of DayZ i thought about the actual game and had so much fun doing so. Once i played a lot of the modern "Takistan domination" game mode on the 173rd Tactical realism server i decided to install the ww2 mod, I44. Once this was installed i rarely went back to DayZ and only occasionally did i go back on to the base game.

Definate Recommnedation to any mil sim players, modern or ww2.

Early Access Review
Bloody review, its getting in the way of the play time of this game :C

This game is so addictive, as soon as you hit play, boom. It's intense when 800 ai are in the battle. Amazingly the ai are actually tactical even though it is in early access. Mods on this game are very welcome (as said on the page) and there is a variety of different types, such as Running in the trenches, a WW1 mod, there is also a lot of weapon mods adding even more guns to the game!

All i can say is before i get back onto playing it is... get it. it is definatley worth the £6.99 with all of the content it has to offer.

I love this game. Many people complained (and i also did) about the 1.37 patch with it's progression system, but now they have made this progression better. Yes the old system is still prefereable but apparently the one that is now in use was the one that Gaijin was planning to make.

With WarGamming being it's competitor, Gaijin have been working on tanks for the game, this makes WT become a multi role game. This game is also more focused onto the realism side of things, in "ground forces" tanks can be knocked out in one hit, whilst on WoT they have a health bar meaning that this game is also more appealing to Mil Sim type of people.

EDIT 24/11/15 (British Date)

Now the game has branched out into ground forces, german tanks, american tanks, russian tanks and now british tanks! There has been many fixes and now the new research system (that was complained about in 1.37 patch) is very easy to get around and the tanks are just great fun to play with. It will get repetetive however in ground forces, first to shoot usually wins the fight... if it is an aimed shot that is! Great damage models both ground and air so a great mix, especially with the simulator combined battles.

Brilliant game for fun kill cams and the various different ways to kill people. Most of this game (in my opinion) is played just to try and get the hilarious kills and get record braking long shots.
