I think of Overgrowth as a neutral game, but since this game comes with a free copy of Receiver (in which I think that game is super fun), I'm going to say yes--but you might want to get it on sale.

Overgrowth started out as a sandbox game for modders, but after a horrndously long development period, three campaigns for normal players came out: one as a remastered version of their oldest game Lugaru, one as a sequel following the main character after the events of Lugaru, and a third campaign that takes place in a different nation and has multiple endings. The gameplay for all three campaigns are the same. That's not to say that the combat is unsatisfying or inherently flawed, but it might feel repetitive, and the combat doesn't feel advanced to the point of being labeled as something outstanding. Also, the story isn't particularly outstanding, but the lore is still there for those who like to nitpick and analyze for details. This game might not be the best game, or even a good game, but I sure had a lot of fun playing it.

I got this game during a "it's free and you keep it forever" sale. I have to admit, this game isn't that bad. The campaign is fun and not too difficult. The different factions are pretty balanced while still making them unique in playstyle and how you strategize with them. The story is also very kid-friendly while still being light-hearted and enjoyable for adults. The characters/units are fun, and the voice acting isn't terrible. It's cringey at worst and "charismatic" at best. I reccomend getting this game on sale (since it's an old game), but there isn't much working against it for it to be a bad idea to buy it at full price.

This game is insanely difficult and unforgiving, but its value comes from your ability to complete it faster and faster as you practice, learn, and fail continuously. If you have the patience to learn this game's quirks and "intentionally poor design choices", this game will be a lot less rage enducing and can be extremely fun and satisfying to play. Just remember: this is a mountain you're climbing, and there will be difficult moments, leaps of faith, and soul-crushing setbacks. Be patient, and if you're really desperate, look up a walkthrough. But most of all, don't stop trying.

Anybody that gives this game a negative review either gave up their climb to the top or is trying troll you.

This game used to be fun when it was still in early access, but the game got stuck in development hell. To make things worse, most of the development crew completely abandoned game, and as people started to notice the slow development and promises the team failed to deliver on, the community left as well.

Still, every once in a blue moon, I go back to this game's community hub to see the few devs that remain trying to keep this game on life support. I really do hope this game makes a comeback; why wouldn't I, considering how I spent twenty dollars for this game? Regardless, until that comeback does happen, this game isn't worth purchasing.

This game is a lot of fun. I love Splash Damage's games, and when I was a kid I loved to play BRINK. It's really sad that none of their games seem to have a very long lifespan. The developers have said that they are no longer adding content to the game, and it shows with how they've taken every single aspect of their monetization market and made it free. Still, even to this day, people are playing it. Splash Damage said they wouldn't shut down the servers as long as a decent community is still playing, and to put it frankly I wouldn't be writing this review if it had already gone out of life support.

I heavily encourage you to give this game a try, not only because it's fun but I would really like to see this game brought back to life. Best case scenario is that the devs see that people still like the game and they try to bring it back to life... and if nothing else, for a game that's free-to-play, it's worth giving a shot before it dies out.

CRYPTARK is a game that has a very specific taste to it. It's a roguelike, but its mechanics work in a way that it doesn't feel like one. In this game, you have to raid abandon ships in order to gain revenue, which is currency that you spend on weapons and gadgets that will help you take down more difficult targets.

What makes this game roguelike is that every ship you go up against is proedurally generated: each ship has their own layout, and these ships are distincive by the type of ship and what defense systems they have. As another roguelike feature, you will come across data centers that your contractors will take and reward you with licenses to random weapons. These two things alone are what make CRYPTARK a roguelike, as every encounter with enemy ships will never be the same, and the gear that you use to disable these ships are similarly randomized.

Everything else that popular roguelikes have, such as unlocking new items that you (potentially) find in future runs or secrets (in general) other than bits of lore, CRYPTARK doesn't have. However, you do have the opportunity to unlock new mechs that each have their own unique playstyles.

This game isn't that bad, though. The controls and the combat feels great, and despite this game being stressful, it feels really good to systematically disarm an alien mothership of its defenses, following up with an attack on the ship's core to finish the job. The game does a really good job of making you feel like a budget privateer that considers secondary objectives and what to spend money on, and it does an even better job of forcing you to strategize in a way that you'll be able to accomplish the mission while making the most profit.

This game is amazing. It might not be for everbody, but it's definitely worth giving it a shot.

Hammerfight is probably the best physics based fighting game you'll ever come across.

In Hammerfight, you play as a pilot operating this strange barrel/helicopter hybrid that uses maces, hammers, swords, axes, and even guns to fight other barrel/helicopters, monsters, and machines. The story is really text heavy, so I chose to ignore it, but the gameplay is excellent. Using only your mouse, you use the movements of your mouse to pilot the machine, and you swing your weapon through the momentum of your character. This is the epitemy of "easy to control, hard to master", and it takes a long while to get used to the controls, but it is extremely satisfying to be able to smash a bad guy across the map and have him explode when he hits a wall. There's also these "Song Stones" you can augment your weapons with, which gives you an edge in battle. These song stones range from turning etherial to avoid damage to freezing enemies with your blows and shattering their weapons and armor.

This game has amazing physics, despite having few bugs, and is an absolute blast to play once you get past the difficulty curve.

Rainbow Six Siege has been a rollercoaster in terms of its popularity. It didn't start strong, and as per the norm for your typical Ubisoft game, there were a lot of bugs. However, now that this game has been out for a year, this game has gotten extremely popular, and I really hope that this game comes close to, if not surpasses the popularity of games like CS:GO or TF2.

Tom Clancey's Rainbow Six: Siege is a tactical first-person shooter that puts a lot of emphasis on teamwork and use of gadgets. The game has unique operators that you can unlock with in-game currency, each having their own gadgets that contribute to the team in some way. Another big mechanic with Siege is its use of acquiring intel and destruction. Before the round starts in a game of Siege, the attacking team has time to survey the building to look for the objective, identify enemy operators, and locate traps, If you thought this wasn't unique enough a mechanic, Rainbow Six: Siege is extremely based on destruction. You can open up new entry points and angles with breaching charges, you can break open trap doors to drop from one floor to another, and you can spray through walls and barricades to try to land a lucky headshot on the other side.

Topped with the fact that Rainbow Six: Siege is constantly being cared for by the team at Ubisoft HQ, and the fact that new and innovative operators (that everyone can access) are added each season to spice up the meta, and you have an amazing long-lasting and entertaining multiplayer shooter.
