The force is perpetuated by both Africans and whites. I've seen `` you're not very dark '' from both whites and colored people alike. Colored people use this term Uncle Tom to identify colored people that don't suit their prospects of darkness but as often as whites might have thing to the result of `` you're not like most black people '' or better yet `` I'm blacker than you. '' Unfortunately these stereotypes are extremely harmful. In my personal experience I've seen that slang and grammatical incoherence are so closely related with colored people that articulateness is considered clearly non dark. I think continuous efforts to broaden business forces, college populations and the types of people presented in mass media can dissolve these stereotypes eventually.
