The game tried too hard to be Silent Hill rather than itself.

The story feels so bland and forced on you. Think of Silent Hill Ascension memes with "trauma" tossed at you level of story.

Combat was lame. Music was good. Puzzles were hit or miss. Most of the time it came down to "Find item, bring to a spot, get another item, bring to a spot, find item..."

Some of the monsters had good designs others felt uninspired (one boss in particular later on). Switching between characters was jarring more than interesting. Why do we care about any of them?

Verdict is wait for a sale if you want to grab it.

If you were ever on the fence about Dead Rising due to some of the constraints, now is the time to check it out.

Tons of QoL updates help bring this to a modern audience. Checkpoints, better survivor AI, durability meters for items, etc.

Would have loved for some difficulty settings once the game is complete but other than that it's great to be back in Willamette.

A great recreation of the movies in game form.

Multiplayer only will always be a bit of a bummer but the gamer is super fun. Highly recommend if you enjoy asymmetrical games.

If you love old school Resident Evil and Silent Hill, give this game a try. Already has more content than most $60 games for only $20.
