Pretty. Fun.

Good news Watcher! Your castle you worked so hard on last game is rubble and you're a pirate captain now! Enjoy your high seas shenanigans with old friends and new, a brand new turn based game mode, and an upgrade from chasing a deranged cult leader around to trying to get the gods themselves to behave. 10/10

The little goth deckbuilder of my dreams - sooooo moody, very atmospheric, heavy on the noir demon hunter vibes. Early Access, so only the first area is up right now and the dev team is working out the kinks, so manage your expectations, but for 10 bucks to get in on the ground floor this is a great deal and I'm very excited to see what story they end up telling here. The devs are also very responsive, engaged, and excited to be here, so it also feels like a true community effort making this game.

So far (6 hours in at the time of review) a really, really gorgeous game with a fun combat system. I love that the game is set within the same world and timeline as Pillars of Eternity, this is a really fun new way to engage with it.

All of that of course comes second to the fact that my fish man companion is the reincarnated ghost of my space boyfriend, and he still shoots a gun, is my apocalypse bestie, and says cool action guy stuff like "next one's mine". 10/10

I totally understand how this game wouldn't be for everyone, but boy is it for me! This is NOT X-com with Marvel Characters, this is Dragon Age: Origins in a Marvel skin with deckbuilding "tactical" combat. Make a generic character, help your teammates work through their social anxiety and troubled childhoods and then give them a present before you all go out and kick some ass. Fun!

How very dare a Marvel game that I thought was just going to be glossy, pretty, wacky, galactic wheeeeeeeee make me cry so much. I see why it won best narrative, this was the Guardians movie we deserved! Gameplay is pretty damn fun too.

The Star Wars movie we deserved. At turns moving, bombastic, super dramatic, cheesy, and action packed with a gorgeous score and some predictable but VERY fun plot twists. The story really expands the lore of the Star Wars universe surrounding Force users and the birth of the Empire and I loved it.

Gameplay wise - bit of a mixed bag! Some of the mechanics were frustrating (wall running was the bane of my existence, but that could have been just me), and fights towards the middle could get repetitive before you start getting your REALLY good Force and lightsaber skills, then it picks back up again (being able to toss Stormtroopers around like dolls is never boring).

All in all, I had a fracking blast start to finish. So money well spent.

Short game - but beautiful, strange and engageing. It also ends up having decent replay value - a steal on sale!

Best way to wake your sleeping inner supervillain.

10/10 would not sass Ramsey Snow again.
