Still one of the best game OSTs of all time in 2025.
Play the game first as some of the soundtrack can be a spoiler which robs you of some of the intended effects of the late game.

Th worst version of the worst modern FromSoft game. Buy the original with season pass instead.

Or better yet, play literally any other FromSoft game. DS2 is a great game, but why settle for this when better games in the same genre and by the same developer exist?

Unironically the best version of DS2. Don't be fooled by the promise of slightly higher resolution, the SotFS Edition is a worse game overall

Decent idle game with a fair amount of effort. The character unlock events are essentially impossible to complete F2P, making the existence of these events offensive. Just sell the character if you're making it paid for content regardless.

Absolutely phenomenal. If you like Elden Ring, you will adore this.
Don't listen to all these people who somehow didn't expect a FromSoft release to be difficult.

Do you want to be a war hero?
Do you want to exterminate heretics
Do you like V I O L E N C E

This game is -fun-
It is not deep, it is not fancy, it is not complicated, but tearing Orks in half face first doesn't get old for me.
This game did both Doom(2016) and Gears of War better than they did

But do not buy this 7th gen game for full price. It is ancient and should be priced for that.
The DLC included in Anniversary is not good

Unfortunately the actual quality of the game is completely redundant - this is another case of Ubisoft going out of its way to screw paying customers.

Issue 1: Denuvo
I don't think I need to say much more here. Denuvo objectively hinders game performance in return for not stopping piracy whatsoever.

Issue 2: Uplay
Or connect or whatever they call it these days. Again, the only actual function of this is to make pirated copies function and perform better than legitimate copies.
If you play this game without buying it, you get to avoid:
Logging in to your Ubisoft account repeatedly
Loading a launcher that doesn't always work, especially hindering on SteamDeck
Instantly losing your game progress because your Internet cut out
Uplay Offline mode still requires semi-regular log in and Internet connection for literally no reason whatsoever.

Issue 3: DLC DLC DLC
seriously guys I would spend more money on this if you would put some real time and effort into the extended content. Charge more money for it, go back to the days of 2070 where you released actual expansions.

All in all I was hyped for this game for years. Long time Anno fan, love the setting of this and the gameplay is (mostly) improved on previous installments.
But the above issues are way too much to ignore.
Remember, none of this stops piracy. All of it actively encourages piracy. I don't know how Ubisoft gets off complaining about pirates while simultaneously bunging their games up with pointless bloatware, extra log in steps and a soft always online requirement.

Please do not buy this for the sake of this industry.
