I really enjoyed this game! The art style is very unique, and the voice acting and dialogue were on point! The sounds and music were extremely immersive, and really enhanced the gameplay. There were some things that I feel were unnecessary, and overused in teen story games right now- see the taking of polaroid photos a la Life is Strange, and a few other more spoilery plot devices.

I feel like the thriller/horror/supernatural elements were well balanced, providing just enough atmospherics without actually making me hide under my blanket! I loved the incorportation of the radio! There is definitely replayability, like any game where your choices ACTUALLY influence the outcome of the story, but I feel like a lot of the game's value was in not knowing what was going to happen, so I don't think it would be as interesting the second time through. Of course, in my playthrough I made everyone hate me so maybe I'm just a sore loser.

TL;DR Great art style, sound, and voice acting. Would recommend. Maybe buy it on sale, considering $20 for 6 hours of gameplay? Very worth the money if you intend to try for multiple endings/the extra content

The Long Dark is one of my favorite games and it's only in ALPHA. This game is gorgeous, runs extremely well, and is engaging for hours and hours of gameplay. I play on the medium mode and its neither too hard nor too simple. The game balances well between being a survival game (checking and maintaining your tempurature, hunger and fatigue) and an exploration game, and the map, even just the two areas they have available now, is detailed and well-thought out, sometimes clear and sometimes confusing- making finding your way even more rewarding.

I can't wait to see what they add to this game, and even when its 'complete' and story mode comes out, I think I will still love playing the sandbox over and over.
