The price point may seem like a bit much at first glance, but I have gotten a huge portion of the game under my belt and there is still so much to go, on top of the fact that the game is highly replayable, so I could likely get through 2 or 3 playthroughs before I feel like I might need to put the game down. Your decisions in this game matter significantly, and you can have completely horrible relations or very positive ones with many people, based on how you act and what you do. Characters you invite into your town can interact with eachother, and clash or meld really well together. Your resources have to be managed appropriately alongside your town, but for anyone who cares more about the story, there is an easy mode, and its not too hard to manage them.

A very fun card based strategy/puzzle game with non linearity that isn't really needed for a game like this, nor the focus, is a welcome addition nonetheless, due to the story often giving you incentives to fight optional battles that will result in narrative benefits, as well as mechanical. Definitely a worthy use of time, with fun dialogue, well done art, and solid voice acting overall, outside of small issues I had with the main character's emotional heights not being reached verbally. If the price seems a bit steep, I would still recommend you at least give the game a try on sale, you likely will not regret it.

Although I'd probably recommend you get this game on sale, the team that have picked it up have done a great job making much more enjoyable of an experience, with a completely overhauled combat system. If you liked Banner Saga, think of this game as Banner Saga's little brother. It's rough around the edges, and the translation is clearly rough as well, but its been improved significantly. If it means anything, I played this game once, and quit almost immediately, but more recently I played and went through the entire game. 0 bugs, and a great experience overall. I only hope that the new team that have put so much effort into making this game better get the chance to make a true sequel, which I'm sure will be even better.

Early Access Review
This game is fantastic. The characters, writing, and decisions you get to make while managing your kingdom (though the system isn't overly complex or minmax/number management heavy for those who just want to focus on the story) are really interesting. The game has it's own protagonist, who has his own opinions and personality, but does it well, and still allows you to shape how he rules, your decisions being able to take you down alternate paths for the story already, and the developer releases chapters at a much faster pace than most developers who make writing-heavy games, especially on his own. Very much recommend, I don't think anyone will regret it, especially considering you don't have to pay for the game (which I very much encourage).

Constantly having technical issues, loading infinitely in game so I have to restart the whole game and relog and miss like 10% of the match, other teammates crash while having a great PC and instead of being able to rejoin the tournament, it boots them and tells them they can't reconnect, and then bans them from playing for leaving the tournament while we lose because we are down a teammate. The Company is insanely greedy, they used AI Voice acting without doing anything actually interesting with it. The Announcer voice lines are so boring and basic that the only reason not to use AI was saving money. The game is riddled with cheaters, and you couldn't get any skins for your character if you played the game for a year straight without shilling out money. People act like these types of F2P games need microtransactions to survive, but the fact is it makes leagues more money to have F2P with microtransactions. The Developer's representatives have called people xenophobic for asking people to region lock China, which is riddled with cheaters that make the game worse. The whole company is greedy, entitled, and they do not care about the players playing this game. The gameplay itself is fun, when you can actually connect to a match 1/5 times, but that doesn't make it worth all this truly abysmal experience.

As somebody who likes Warhammer, but has never been extremely into the setting, and finds a few things about it not very enjoyable, this game is fantastic. I've had some minor bugs but nothing that has been game-breaking. If anyone does run into any problems I recommend downloading the Toybox mod off of Nexus, which the developers have intentionally pre-installed a mod manager to make it easier to do, thankfully.

The story is not linear at all, and you can really forge your own personality for your character, with actually interesting ethical quandaries and politics to be played. The Combat isn't the best combat I've ever seen in a turn-based game, but the amount of customization options you get allows it to be incredibly dynamic which makes it much more fun. Especially since you are allowed to respec at any time, allowing you to try out different builds, for you and your companions, if you didn't like your original choice. Ship Battles take a little getting used to, but after I understood how it works I don't think it's overly hard and I've enjoyed it for what it is. I haven't really started Colony management too much but from what little I've played with it, it seems to be a fun dynamic system where you can decide how you want to run your colony, but it's not overly complex for players who don't want to manage it too much.

Overall, the I'd give the game a solid 8.5/10 so far, and I'm honestly just with my only real negative being that the bugs can occasionally be annoying, and I would advise that it might be best to wait a few months before buying if that kind of thing really ruins your enjoyment when playing.

The game was shorter than I expected, but a blast the whole way through! Very excited for the sequel.

Some people say the characters or dialogue were disappointing. I completely disagree. The people in this book/game feel very real, and very human. The weight of each death you deal, whether directly or indirectly, feels horrible, in the best way possible. I absolutely loved the cuts to other soldiers on both sides of the battle, before they often were killed, without a thought about why. There were times where my character hated his "mother" and he even told her that if she was dead things would be better, but he also tried to remain amicable with her and the rest of his family, but he deep down never let go of that anger. The protagonist is definitely not a blank slate, but you still have a large control over how they act, and what they will do, I'd say akin to Witcher 3's protagonist, if not with even more freedom. It isn't your creation, but you can vastly affect how their fate turns out, and they become your own, in time. All in all, a worthy buy, and I'm excited for the sequel (that being said, don't let my hours on this game fool you, I accidentally left it open, although the game seems to be fairly replayable and doesn't force characters to stay alive if you choose to have them killed.
