A fantastic continuation of the Horizon series, finally moving on from the dreary weather and mood of Britain to the warm and lush settings of Mexico.

My only complaints thus far are that you still cannot alter downforce/lift on a majority of cars without installing that super ugly Forza Aero, and that the game physics still won't you properly rock climb, even if your car has enormous knobby tires and 15 inches of lift.

What I've enjoyed most about FH5 so far is that it seems like you can leave a car in RWD and not feel like you're making a major sacrifice in terms of grip/overall handling. This may be different once I decide to finally tune an S2 or X-class car in RWD, but at least for S1 and below, RWD is finally a viable option, it feels much more forgiving to use.

Pros:
- Simple, yet with enough natural depth with the trick/movement system that there's virtually unlimited room for discovery/improvement
- You can mod the hell out of this game, there are plenty of people making high-quality maps, clothes, decks, etc.
- Very intuitive replay mode and clip storage that is sorted by map
- Comprehensive tutorial makes learning tricks and lines easy to learn

Cons:
- Only comes with 5 developer-made maps and 3 community-made maps
- Many physics glitches still needs ironing out
- Limited physical character attribute customization, only a few "pro skater" models to choose from
- Still needs to have adjustable camera angles and a way to line up on a lip and drop in

Overall: Promising game that fills that "Skate 4"-shaped hole in my heart, with a simple, fluid design and well-integrated community feedback, with bonus points for fully embracing the modding portion of the player base. Unfortunately, $40 is a little steep for a game that could easily still be mistaken for something still in the beta stage, with limited out-of-the-box map selection and dull character customization. Most of said problems can be fixed for free using mods from Skaterxl.mod.io, but it feels like the players are solving a lot of problems that the studio should have fixed on their own by now. Make no mistake, SkaterXL is a fun, high-skill, yet also laidback game, but ultimately it is still a work in progress.

It's CSGO, what do you want me to say that hasn't already been said?

The Final Shape has been virtually everything I could want out of the capstone expansion to Destiny 2. The Campaign starts out slow, but after the 4th mission (no spoilers), things really get going and the result is roughly the same, if not BETTER than, the Witch Queen campaign from 2022.

The main reason I'm changing my review to positive is actually because Bungie FINALLY is heavily discounting old campaigns, that's been the singular largest roadblock preventing me from recommending this game to new or returning players. The "New Light" experience still throws far too much at you at once, with very little in the way of guidance as to how to actually get everything done. Destiny 2 is still a game best played with someone to hold your hand as you get your bearings, it's an MMO-lite after all.

As is tradition, the new raid, Salvation's Edge, is the crown jewel of the expansion. It is easily the most difficult raid in the game, at least in terms of getting used to how to play it. Whereas traditional raids are combat focused, Salvation's Edge is very mechanical, although there are still similarities between encounters. My one gripe with the raid so far is that there are not enough audio/visual cues for when players do things right or wrong.

The new patrol space, the Pale Heart of the Traveler, is easily the best open-world space the game has to offer. It is different from a majority of patrol spaces in that you will only be able to play with the people you load into it with. You will not encounter random Guardians to do public events with, and that's pretty much the point. The Pale Heart is a sort of mish-mash of many different aesthetics in one, a surrealist take by the main villain of the expansion, The Witness. The main attraction of the Pale Heart is the new public event that is perpetually active whenever you load into the destination called Overthrow, where you can kill enemies, open chests, collect planetary materials, or engage in miniboss fights to score points to advance through 3 waves before a final boss spawns. There is a wide variety of things to do, which, coupled with decent enemy density, is very helpful in keeping Overthrow from growing (too) stale.

Prismatic, the new subclass made up of all the OTHER subclasses, is also a fantastic addition to the game. It's the equivalent of a "Greatest Hits" record, featuring a lot of popular aspects and fragments, melee, and grenade abilites from all 5 subclasses. Another unique feature of Prismatic that makes it extra powerful is the "Transcendant" meter, which has 2 halves that gain energy when you deal either Dark (Stasis or Strand) or Light (Arc/Solar/Void) damage to enemies. Activating Transcendance gives you the ability to break Prismatic shields, as well as replaces your grenade ability with a special grenade that deals both Light and Dark damage. This extra gameplay loop really helps out the (already very strong) power fantasy of the Prismatic subclass.

All things considered, I think The Final Shape is one of the best pieces of content Bungie has ever put out for the Destiny franchise. I believe it is a love letter to the players that have stuck by the franchise and loved it through the good times and bad.

Team Fortress 2 was the game that first introduced me to the shooter genre, and I have since logged unknown amounts of time into it. With its broad variety of clever and diverse cast of characters, maps, and huge selection of hats, TF2 deserves every bit of the praise it gets for being the quintessential addition to anyone's Steam library.
