Ever wondered where games like Space Engineers got their control scheme and physics?
It was Descent, the first 6-Degrees-of-Freedom game.
What does that have to do with this?
This is a taste of the resurgence of the genre the original Descent developers and inventors are working on.
There is not much else to be said that has not already been said about this teaser.
So, to be simple, I highly reccomend you at least trying this, even if you have never played a 6-DOF game before.
Have fun, Material Defenders.

Shovel Knight is an 8-Bit style platformer game in the veins of Mega Man, Castlevania, and Duck Tales. This formula seems to work well, as the controls and overall flow of the game go very smoothly. Now, it does have it's difficulty spikes, but that has become a requirement in this kind of game. Is Shovel Knight a blatant copy of the aforementioned games? No, it is it's own game. Does it use elements from said games? Yes, but that can be said about almost any game. Overall, I highly recommend this to those who love the old NES and SNES eras of platformers, and are looking for a new challenge.
