Good foundation for the dwarf fortress/rim world genre. I'd wait on a few updates to take the plunge but if you absolutely need something new in that genre there's something here to keep you entertained. Otherwise I'd wait a little and see how the patching shakes out!

hit the mans, 2! it's like hit the mans 1 but a little better. not much different.

Subnautica-esque game play, prey-esque asthetic, kind of a odd-fun/sarcastic/breaking the 4th wall humor. if you like these kinds of games it's worth the price of admission.

Lots of busy-work(mining, repairing tools, various farms, running a church, fishing, managing bodies, research..ect) with some jank but (so far) the devs seem to be listening to the community, and pulling the game in a good direction. Over all I'm enjoying it and think it's been worh the price of admission, but maybe I'm just a sucker for busy-work games.

Do you like Classic RTS base building?
Do you like Turtling in said classic RTSes?
do you like or atleast are ambivalent about zombies and steam punk ?

Then this game is for you :P

it's not super deep at the moment but one hopes with the wild success it is having they will add more stuff.
pathfinding can be a little wonky, Which makes sense for zombies but is annoying when your sassy ranger can't navigate out of a simple wall hook or some such.

This is a pretty fun blast from the past that reminds me of all the time I spent on AIM :-)

I got this thing on a whim when it was on sale, and boy I wish I got it earlier. It's great being able to play PC level games in bed. It's detected my ps3 controller with no fuss, and besides a random hitch or here or there I've been very happy and think it's worth getting even at full price. And if it's on sale it's a no brainer.

A nice system shock vibe going on with this game. Runs really smooth, looks pretty decent. A nice entry imo.

This is a pretty fun game. I haven't played h1z1 so I can't compare it to that. You get airdropped on a pretty big island and you run around finding guns on the floor, sort of simularly to DAYZ..but without the zombies :-) It's also a lot faster paced as a big forcefield slowly encloses the island and makes the battle ground smaller and smaller. Last person a live wins and gets awarded points, which you use to buy crates to unlock more starting outfits. So that's the game in a nutshell. It can be pretty tense! :-)

It's pretty embarrassing how many hours I've put into this game. It tickles all the Dwarf fortress itches with a nice scifi flare, and without having to fight an obtuse menu too much. It has its issues but at the end of the day I can easily say this is one of my favorite games ever, and has been over the last few years.
