I adore this game. It's one that didn't seem that interesting initially but really grew on me after discovering some of the nuances. There's a lot of tactical depth to the gameplay, between optimally exploring the lands for riches, conquering and developing tows, to forming an army which you do battle with on abstract terrain.

The campaign was challenging and full of great writing and clever scenarios. Out of the box there's 4 distinct races to learn and master (a 5th comes with DLC), and I can't emphasize enough how good the music is.

Songs of Conquest is just an all around fantastic strategy game that's a delight to play.
