8/10 enjoyable, simplistic, boring at points

Disclaimer: Only played through the "The Thief's End" and not planning to play the other game (The Lost Legacy). This is the first time playing any Uncharted game and I've never had a console in my life. :)

I liked the game, although sometimes the cutscenes and action set pieces are well overdone but I get the appeal. In general I think the new Tomb Raider games are better action adventure games based on the mechanics. Uncharted is kind of a Call of Duty version of the genre. I would have like 'some' customization and character/utility management. The graphics are good. Overall it gives you a kind of console feeling of course it being a port. It was too simplistic at points to my liking. The writing of the story is laughable and eye rolling, but if you are a "Fast&Furious" fan you'll like it.

Barely started the game, but after 4 hours of gameplay there are already some apparent positive changes after the first game:

- no "lost all my powers because of some macguffin" BS
- straight to the action, no build up / flashbacks etc.
- Cal been through some ♥♥♥♥ since the end of the first game, his character is more gray which I like
- finally no poncho or not only poncho as clothing option
- cool hair and facial hair customization options
- more lightsaber stances
- bigger maps

Overall a better experience, more mature protagonist and storyline, keeping out all the annoying storytelling elements.

Got the game in the 1.6 state, so the gameplay was flawless. Kinda late for the party, but this game has everything you want in a AAA title. The world, the characters, the acting, the story, the sidequests, the combat, the music, the progression, the skills/perks/weapons, the movement... it is an immersive experience and a unique one in the sci-fi genre.

My all time favourite franchise is the Mass Effect trilogy and I hope that CDPR will make a sequel for Cyberpunk. I have zero complaints expect not getting the game a year or so earlier. And the characters again...a fckn masterpiece. MORE OF THIS, MORE LIKE THIS!

Can't wait for Phantom Liberty, I feel like a fanboy again, passionate about an IP and it is a good feeling. Buy it, play it, enjoy it.

If you played the original game you know what you got yourself into. This is a classic. Beautiful music (the intro cutscene and song is just perfect, sets the mood), movielike story, authentic world.

The gameplay is pretty straight forward but it isn't really about the gameplay. It's about living through this era again, listening to the radio or the conversations while you're cruising through the city.

Highly recommend to play it on classic difficulty, you can still easily beat the game, but you won't go guns blazing everywhere. Just take your time, take your shots. Huge positive that the devs tried to make the old missions more playable and reduced the frustrating factor (the sneak mission in the garden is way easier with the take down animation than before where you had to hit the guards with the baseball bat from the perfect angle, with perfect timing).

It was a 10/10 for me as a fan of the original.
