Beware if buying the DLC pack since most of the DLC's are complete game breakers, Giving you too much level ups, cash, cars and weapons to start with.
Altho, you could always check which DLC's to install after purchasing the game.

Seriously.. do it.

Great game!
9/10 in the BlacKy scale.

The good:

* Story starts great (no spoiler): A group of rich kids went for a vacation on an exotic island (or a group of islands if u'd like) to have fun, but then gets kidnapped by pirates. You free yourself and get help from local villagers to free your friends and take the kidnappers down.

* Island looks amazing. Overall graphics is very up to date.

* Exploring the island is very fun (whoever liked Red Faction Guerrilla's enviroment will like this aswell). Many side quests to do. Having a bunch of items to find (just like the classic hidden boxes from the GTA series). Driving a vehicle makes you feel as you're inside the game. You can actually feel bumps on the road.

* The wildlife is very nice. Many exotic animals to encounter. Animal's AI is well done overall.

* The more you advance in the game, enemies get thougher.

* Customizable weapons. Need i say more?

* Co-op is pretty fun when its not crashing.

* You get to cheat on your gf with an amazonian nympho.

The bad:

* Story ends bad, in my opinion: I'll do my best not to spoil - When having the chance to get out of the island with all your friends, you take the other option, revenge, staying behind and killing those who have kidnapped you and your friends.

* Enemies AI is a bit poor. They sometimes suspect that something is wrong but they dont tend to do much about it, even if they're defending an outpost, etc.

* I've found all the syringes except health syringes to be unnecessary to use. No need to dive too much underwater so water syringe is irrelevant. The camera's ability to tag enemies and animals makes the hunter syringe to be irrelevant aswell. You can extinguish fire when you're on fire so fireproof syringes are, again, irrelevant.

* Your health is too OP. You can make up to 10 health packs while also carrying impossible amount of crafting materials to make even more health syringes if you'll need to use later. After getting enough progressed in the game, you have constantly infinite amount of health which makes everything boring and less exciting.

* The skill tree isn't as good as other games, E.G Borderlands franchise. You will eventually unlock all the skills in the game, which makes it unnecessary to think 'which skill am i going to unlock next?'. Some of the skills have absolutely no value in the game so you may think that even if you have free skill points to spare, you wouldn't pick that specific skill.

* While the crafting option itself is very well made. Everything craftable in the game gets unlocked after ~50% of game time (finishing the north island), so you wont be needing to kill animals for hides at the second island at all if you have explored the first island effectively enough.

* Activating radio towers makes the game very easy. Too easy i might say. Weapons will become free in weapon shops, ammo gets very cheap, and you get the sense that money isnt a factor anymore. If you like a bit of a challenge, dont do what i did, which was unlocking most of the radio towers before making the quests. Try exploring everything at once:

- Do a few missions.
- Do a few side missions.
- Explore the island as you can: Find some artifacts / SD cards / letters / etc.
- Unlock some radio towers and outposts.
- Repeat

* uPlay - Sadly this game runs by uPlay, which means constantly-crashing servers in multiplayer and co-op, no Steam achievements, and no real option to search for specific servers like in normal Valve servers via Steam.
Multiplayer and co-op have no skill filter. A level 1 noob will often join a group of level 75's (highest level).

The ugly:

I admit i was 'letting myself go' on the bad stuff. But when you play the game, you will realize the good compensates the bad in many ways. Very enjoyable game. Open world FTW!
Just dont count on the MP / Co-op to be enjoyable. Because of the above circumstances, its not.

Great game!

Pros:

They have taken many great features from other games/movies:
* Without spoiling too much, the overall enviroment is a mysterious island which resembles the L.O.S.T TV series. Its one of those games which you actually enter the hero's heart and understand his/her personalities and emotions, kind of reminds me Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games movies.
* Graphics are intense in full HD, and overall looks like Crysis 3 for me.
* You got autosaving like in Borderlands.
* Many 'side missions' to do like in the GTA series (mostly finding information logs and ancient relics).
* An Open world game, again, just like in the GTA series.

Cons:

* If you're looking for intense puzzles like the older series had, you wont find them here. This game is more of a mystery 3rd person shooter than a puzzle. If i could measure the difficulty of the puzzles, I'd say they are Half-Life ish, which means simple logic will get you through them in a minute or two.
* Lara's boobies got a bit smaller, But she does looks sexier, i'd give her that (check my pics on my profile if you like :D ).


Overall I'd give this game 9.5/10, its not 10 mostly because the puzzles arent that challenging. A 'must' game whether or not you are a fan of the TR series. Totally worths its value!
