Early Access Review
Had some time to spare, and wanted to play. Communication errors. Their server is down right now, so I can't play. Great. Why does this purely single player game need always-online DRM? Even their website (platinalab.net) is offline at the moment, and this isn't scheduled maintenance. If this tiny indie company ever disappeared, the game gets vaporized with them. There's a literal dead-man switch in the games that do this.

Fantastic game otherwise, with some really awesome songs and fun charts. I'm going to continue to play and enjoy it when their servers ALLOW me to, but they deserve the criticism here.

2025-04-17 update:
The developer has fixed the issue with the album art, so the average person looking for an awesome soundtrack has nothing special to do other than enjoy. The music was awesome before, and it's still awesome now.

The size of their MP3 version now comes out to 306MB and their lossless M4A (ALAC) version comes out to 945MB. Reminder that Steam makes you download both anyway, but you can then trash the version you don't want.

One more thing is that I noticed that they switched out the lossless versions of ONLINE, HOLOGRAPHIC, and DISCONNECTION. I'm not observant enough to tell if Moe Shop made any material differences in the songs (they seem the same to me other than volume), but they are now 24 bit while the rest of the soundtrack is still 16 bit. This can mildly be a positive or a negative, depending on what you prefer.

Thanks for fixing this issue, devs! Please make a sequel to this soundtrack, and maybe another game too!

Original Review (for context):
Incredible soundtrack, but I gotta point out that even the MP3s are pretty massive in size. I put it in mp3tag and immediately saw the culprit: there's a 19MB album art PNG file attached to each file lol. I resized it and changed it to JPG, bringing the size of the soundtrack down from 1.23GB to 290MB. I hope they fix this themselves lol, most people wouldn't know to do this.
