Membership is about 3 bucks more expensive per month if bought as Steam DLC (This 3 month pack is only 30 when bought through the client or RS website) but you DO get steam points out of it, which is why I bought it. Weigh the options and what's right for you, but the website is probably better for most people. Plus, you can set it to auto-renew

I recommend the game, yes. This review isn't for Runescape, it's for this specific membership DLC pack at its standard price.

So you recommend the game, but the review says otherwise. Seems rather wack. On top of that membership is CHEAPER through steam if you catch it at the right time of year. Christmas time a year is 88 bucks. You get an extra key a day, 100 bank spaces, etc. This review is kinda crap...

This is accurate as far as membership is concerned, and doubly so when compared to some of the deals like 'premier club' that Runescape does frequently. That said, I'll give the counter-statement here, too: This pack is intended to be just that, a 'pack' of items. 50 treasure hunter keys, if purchased from Runescape's website, cost about $17, and this includes a Steam download of their soundtrack as well.

It's certainly not an amazing deal, and it's definitely best when a Steam sale happens and you can get this pack for 20% off, but they do give value with this pack above and beyond just buying the vanilla membership from the website.
